How would you predict the economy will perform in the next 24 months?

You've ever had faith in the campaign promises of a politician?

absolutely not but there are millions upon millions who bought the snake oil Obama was selling. All we're seeing now is that hope and change will never happen with career US politicians. Maybe these 4 years will actually do us some good in that people won't be hood-winked by the next great speech maker. Well, I can hope can't I?

Housing prices are predicted to drop another 8-10% in 2009(per an article I saw within the last few days). I beleive it.

Again, he's been in office 9 days and you think people have already begun to lose faith in him?

The 9 days means nothing. A poll asking people about the economy in 24 months is in large part asking them if they believe the measures he is going to take are going to be successful or harmful. I don't think too many people are encouraged by 1 trillion dollar vote buying programs and legislation for worker's rights. So that is all on him.

Picture an upside-down bell shape. Sharp down turn followed by a sharp upturn and level out. I doubt it goes up much in only 24 months, but more like 48 months. The catch is, it won't get much better than it is now, but since it will go down significantly, people will think things are fantastic in 4 years.

by the 2010 elections, the economy will be worse and the democrats will still be blaming it on 8 years of failed Bush policies.

Beyond not renewing the stupid gun/high capacity magazine ban, which policy was successful?

We will need tax cuts to get out of this recession. And I'm not talking about tax rebates for the non-tax payers.
