when government loans for education have no underwriting standards it's basically saying whatever you charge we'll loan someone the money to pay it

now we add the "and there's an increasing chance we won't make the borrower pay it back" dynamic and it will drive tuition costs up. Like I said, I'll probably get a better raise next year after we bump our tuition match the new incentive.

Yep and this doesn't address any of that. I'd be all for some kind of forgiveness help if it included a legitimate fix to the issue. This doesn't do anything. People will still rack up loans they can't afford

exactly my point, and don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge proponent of cancelling student loans. We shouldn't be funneling any taxpayer money to Ukraine though. We seem to be all about helping everyone except American citizens. Hell Democrats would probably cancel student loans on illegal immigrants before Americans
