Free education to 4 year institutions, yes. Community college, no. Spend more time in making Universities affordable vs giving forgiveness.
There was no need and govt interference created the runaway prices. Those prices necessitate huge loans which don't get paid off by a humanities degreeGovernment steps in when and where markets fail to serve society appropriately. Don't like government - take away the need.
Yep and this doesn't address any of that. I'd be all for some kind of forgiveness help if it included a legitimate fix to the issue. This doesn't do anything. People will still rack up loans they can't affordThere was no need and govt interference created the runaway prices. Loaning an 18yo $100k+ with zero collateral would only be something the US govt would agree to. It's stupid
It is and was stupid.......very stupid.......that's why they are being partially forgiven. There was no need and govt interference created the runaway prices. Those prices necessitate huge loans which don't get paid off by a humanities degree

exactly my point, and don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge proponent of cancelling student loans. We shouldn't be funneling any taxpayer money to Ukraine though. We seem to be all about helping everyone except American citizens. Hell Democrats would probably cancel student loans on illegal immigrants before AmericansBut they're doing both. Actually, they're giving way more to Ukraine than they are to the US.
The program was stupid. The banks were stupid. The universities were stupid. So because the college students were stupid, they deserve to have their loans forgiven?
