Chad is 44 yrs old. His last meaninful pro football was 12 yrs ago. Prospective recruits were 6 yrs old at that time. They weren't even born during his All Pro years. Don't think todays kids would really be sparked by his presence.

I’m pretty sure most of these kids have played Madden for a long time.

He has moved to Nashville I think ?

He was at a couple of NSC games and tweeted about being on the sideline of the UT/LSU game. Maybe he’s Tennessee bought in !!!
No, still a Florida resident, and so is his girl. Definitely a social media hit, and his visit would be good for publicity. And his daughter (who is taking an official visit this weekend) will be a very good sprinter, too. That may be the bigger outcome for the week.

His daughter is a recruit on a visit.

I got to go on the field during the Tenn-Ok game in Norman because my Vol buddy worked with the Dad of an Ok basketball recruit who was there on an official visit, and the dad invited us to join him on the field. Some kid named Trey Young…wonder what ever happened to him.

Not a big deal.

Trae Young now plays for the Atlanta Hawks. He is a 2X NBA All-star. He played for Oklahoma before going to the League.

You have to let him on the sidelines or it only turns into negative publicity. Plus it’s because his daughter is on an official visit.

Some of y’all assume way too much about the ignorance of young people. Believe it or not, most people are aware of events that happened before they were born or during their childhood. I guarantee you more serious football players from 16-20 know who Chad is than don’t. I was born in the early 90s; you think I don’t know who Michael Irvin is?

Get a video of him meeting Hyatt the night before, he already gets great seats being on a recruiting trip with his daughter.

How old are you? Joe Montana was playing when I was six and you can bet your ass I would know who he is if he showed up at one of my high school games. Kids know who the ex ballers in the NFL are. Don't be obtuse.

73. Raised 3 sons now in their 30s and 40s. All are avid sports fans. Chad Johnson is not Joe Montana. Without the ocho cinco nonsense, no one would know him. Few do anyway. The point is, dads and grandads have vivid memories of their childhood/young adult heros. They do not necessarily translate to big draws for 18 yr old kids during recruiting.

Typical East Tennessee clown.

Too lazy to read the replies.

This is just a bad take, of course these kids know who Chad Johnson is.. especially the WRs. If you didn't like his antics fine, but the guy put up over 11k receiving yards playing in the same division as those nasty Baltimore and Pittsburgh defenses every year.
