Former LAPD officer on a cop killing spree (merged)

that's what I was thinking - seems like they qualify if anyone ever does.

According to Contract Law, they had to have known of the reward before calling the police. I doubt they knew of the reward, so it's doubtful they are going to get the $1 million.

Always a loophole. They didn't shake on it or LAPD had fingers crossed or something.

Actually, I may be wrong. It depends on California law but a lot of states have an exception for rewards offered by governmental bodies so that you don't have to have known of the reward to recover.

But, they still might not recover b/c the reward offered by the LAPD stated that the reward was for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of Dorner.

In other words, who knows. You can argue it both ways.

Might as well been 100 million then. They knew they were gonna kill him regardless

This whole story is sad and smells of conspiracy's. First off all my thoughts go out to the slain officers families. I'm on the side of believing that Dorner did get screwed over by the LAPD and did know alot of stuff that would get them in ALOT of trouble. I think this is clear by the facts behind the firing and the LAPD shooting trucks that appeared to look like his without finding out first, then add yesterday's events and how they handled it blows your mind. He was screwed over but took the wrong approach to making a point or getting revenge. I found it really shocking when there was reports coming out last night that they didn't even know if he was in the cabin or if he did or didn't have hostages. It's very clear they didn't want him alive or talking.

Here's the problems with the conspiracy theory:

1. They weren't after him until he declared war and started killing people - if he had something on them they would have been after him in some way prior to the rampage.

2. His manifesto didn't mention any specifics other than the firing. He assembled "evidence" to prove his innocence and sent it to CNN I believe. If he had something on them why wouldn't it show up in either the manifesto or in the materials he sent to the media.

3. If he had something on them he didn't need to declare war - by in effect taking himself out of the picture he could not present a case or any evidence he had.

The simple answer is that he felt he was wronged, it festered, he believed he was a victim and went for revenge.

Cops went after him hard since he'd already killed one and 2 people from a cop family, made a list of victims to come and vowed to carry out the plot. Would be a shock if they didn't go after him that hard.

That was a real woman. They don't make em like her anymore.

I thought or what I heard on the news was 2 cleaning ladies were coming inside this cabin
one got away and called the police.. Now I hearing on the news was this cabin was vacant and he was in by himself... The 2 cleaning ladies was another cabin he tied them up and left and went to this cabin... And COOPER said the lady who owns this cabin was watching it and saw it was her cabin. She called the Police told them there was no phone TV or internet..

My understanding was that he was staying in a cabin. Cleaning crew came in. He tied them up, took their car (or a car). One got loose and called cops. Cops stepped up search, wildlife officer spotted him, car-based shoot out and he broke into a DIFFERENT cabin which is where they cornered him.

Not sure if that's correct but that's what I thought the story was.

The problem with that theory is the ammo was stock piled. He had been in that cabin before. No way he was running between cabins with all that ammo. And heavy guns.

This still doesn't address the issue of them burning him alive

Maybe ammo wasn't going off & it wasn't stockpiled. There's a reason they had a bonfire all night when it could've been extinguished way earlier.

Burning him alive? It's not like he was tied down. He coulda walked out the front door to escape the fire.

Well I guess they were scared. Millions in man power and equipment and they burn him. Tied down or not. He owned them.

They did not want him going to trial

He owned them? He's a smoldering pile of flesh and bones right now. I guess we have different definitions of owning someone.

Usually when you fire on law enforcement with an assault rifle, you aren't planning on going to court.

I'm not sure there is or ever was a conspiracy theory but they definitely had an agenda yesterday & wanted to make sure there was as little evidence as possible left.
