Former players running through the T

Awesome! very cool to see Tony Robinson and the sheer emotion on his face and in his voice. It is so good to see him back and moved on from his past.

I'm happy that he made it through his troubles and got to be a part of yesterday. For those of you that are too young to have seen him play here, you missed something special.

The smile on Majors face speaks volumes about the healing that CBJ is making with former players and coaches.

I didn't realize that was Tony Robinson... I was wondering who that was...
and Coach Majors was grinning from ear to ear all the way down the hill...
that was great to see... the whole experience was great to see...

To hear Tony Robinson say it has been 20-something years since he was back, and to see him overcome with emotion... This is the right direction for our program. I imagine this was a huge lift for the young Vols.

Butch got Fulmer to a practice recently where he spoke to players, etc. First time he had been back as well. Don't know if he there yesterday but I am sure he was invited.

Good question. I'm also curious.

Great video. Great moment for UT football. Butch is really creating something special on Rocky Top. We really are blessed to have him as our coach. Can't wait for the next couple of years!

I was there and I didn't see or hear anyone who was disappointed . It's always good to see former players support there team . Great job Butch .

In that video it talks about players returning who "laid the groundwork" for the UT program.

Actually, those people are dead, because they played almost a century ago.

Why does a UT video imply the program didn't get going until the 1950s?

Yes, in terms of former players who were still alive and physically able to participate in this event, we probably didn't have anyone older than Herkey Payne and Pat Shires, who were members of the '51 national championship team, and those guys now have to be at least 80.

With respect to the previous poster, does anyone know if Fulmer is still doing guest analysis for CBS? He has done so in the recent past and, if he is still engaged in that capacity, it could explain why he may not have been present for Saturday's game.

I would like to see him and the others speaking. Anyone have video?

It's things like this that make me buy in even more with Butch Jones. Seeing the look on the faces of our former players as they made the Vol Walk and went through the T was priceless. It is so great to have a family feel to our program. More so than I have ever felt. We have something special that is just getting rolling here and I feel very lucky that I am witnessing it as it happens.

Go Vols!! Beat Bama!!
