set to start for LSU this year accd to their boards. Was the JUCO DE recruited by Frank Wilson and followed him when he went down there. Sam Montgomery who we recruited really hard in '09 to start at the other end as a RS frosh. And that Mathieu kid that blew up at our camp last summer but wasn't offered by Lane is the no. 2 CB behind Patrick Peterson already. Would have been nice

This would have never happened if Dooley was here the kid blew up at our camp and we would have been first to offer Tyran Mathieu cause no other school had offered him......I think that at the time he didn't have a big name and he locked down some of the best Wide outs in the country at our camp when so called Lame was the coach.

he came pretty much out of nowhere until that camp where he shut down every WR he faced including Ambles. Said he'd love a UT offer then camped at LSU a week or so later and they offered on the spot after working him out.

Tyran Mathieu I wondered why we didn't offer this kid I thought he had bad grades etc.

Mathieu really wasn't recruited at all until he hit camps.... he blew the camps up LSU offered on the spot and he was a NR on rivals, within a few weeks he was a 4-star. Sounds like he is doing great so far as a freshman, but he is going to be sitting behind Peterson this year but he will get playing time I hear. That is why I tell people to ignore Scout and Rivals until the first couple of games of their senior year.

Adams is doing pretty good from what I have heard, same with Montgomery.

We got Justin Worley, Matt Darr and Pat Martin over LSU. I know they have signed some good players this year, but I think a lot of recruits see the writing on the wall regarding Les Miles and look for those recruits to go to other schools if they don't keep Wilson on the next staff. I believe all of those players will be good players for the Vols in the future. Additionally, I don't think LSU is too happy about how Dominique Allen turned out and we are lucky he did not commit to UT.

This will be LSU's best class ever, maybe not by rankings according to the rating agencies but the fans have been tracking most of these recruits since their freshman year of HS.

Collins, Hillard, Landry, Freak Johnson, Jenkins, Turner, Hill, and White are no joke.... and I would not trade them for any other team's class.

Usually LSU gets 85-95% of the in-state recruits it wants and then a few out of state recruits to add to the mix, this year is no different.

The only in-state recruit that I know that has an offered that has a verbal with another team is Bradley Sylve who has a verbal with ALA... there are family matters that helped in that decision.

The following in-state recruits have offers and are undecided:
- G. Robinson
- O. Beckman
- J. Rasco
- M. Johnson

I expecting LSU not to be able to get 2 of the 4. So, the numbers for in-state will still be close to 85-90% this year with no problem. Now if we lose half the class between now and signing day then I will gladly change my tune, until then I don't know what to say other than I wouldn't trade our class for any other team's.

The only place LSU has struggled to recruit this year is out-state QBs, no Louisiana QBs have been offered yet and with the loss of Zack Lee to MLB that may leave a sting in a few years.

I wonder if JC Copeland is second quessing his choice of schools. We could haved used him right now more then Ken Adams. He's not listed on their 2 deep roster at DE or DT. I can only assume, but I would say its safe to say with our depth issues at DT he would have to be in our 2 deep rotatation at tackle. Oh well...

Redshirt candidate from what I can tell, but I believe they plan on using a true freshman or two so we will see. You have to remember he is pretty undersized for the position, here he is up to 270-275, probably needs another year if he is going to stay at DT and get up to 280+.

If he can't add the weight and strength, look for him to move to DE. The alternate is to use him on 3rd down rushing situations as DT. I really like him but he might be situational type guy, we will have to wait and see.

We missed on some good ones last year, but considering everything that UT went through, I can't complain about our end result.

These kids do not play for UT and are not gonna play for UT. Please remove the LSU fodder from the University of Tennessee recruiting site,, Thank you..GBO

Ken Adams is a joke. Auburn people I talk to (reasonable ones) literally breathed a sigh of relief when he committed here over Auburn and I did the same when he decommitted from UT. This says more about LSU's situation than Adam's talent.

why is he a joke? LSU has talent, so I'm not so sure that is much of a point.

I've seen him play and seen his videos and never been remotely impressed. I don't know how he got his Auburn offer coming out of high school, why Kiffin thought he could play TE here or how LSU thinks he can start at DE.

Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

JC Copeland still hurts. Maybe we can miraculously get back in with that freak DT...

It's not the LSU of old, but if he can come in and start right away, he has to have some talent.

Don't get your hopes up. The ONLY thing we had going for us over LSU in that was Frank Wilson and it was still probably going to be a battle to hold on to him.

I wouldn't consider Ken Adams one of them. Just my opinion, but I doubt he would be playing at DE or TE for us this year, even with our depth and the injury to Ben Martin.

Actually we did offer Mathieu. Monte knew he would get the kid from Florida, which he did. Unfortunately, he is at USC and blowing up there.
