Humphrey just left F1 for futbol coverage so he's out. No clue what kind of deal Allen has, but I'd say he's unlikely too. Next?

Allen, just because you don't know anything about him doesn't mean he can't do a better job.

He's the BBC radio coverage guy but, again, i have no clue what kind of deal he has. What else do I need to know? The books he wrote about Schumi?

I asked first.

Fine, if you insist on being a child. James Allen, lives, breathes and eats F1. If it's important, new, or interesting James knows about it. He also has technical knowledge, so we would not have to rely upon dusty old matchett for info on tech updates, and we could use Matchett a lot less, which is a good thing.

Now, explain why Varsha who can't even accurately tell us when Sebastian Vettel won his first race, is better.

You still haven't told me anything about Allen I didn't know.

But, I figured you would have assumed I was talking about realistic play by play guys (see also: guys not under contract with other networks). Unless I'm very much mistaken, neither Allen or Humphrey is. Since we're talking unrealistic here, I hope the new US broadcast picks up Murray Walker.

If not Varsha, I'll take Leigh Diffey.

I did explain why Allen is better. Allen is very much a free agent.

Leigh is good.

James Allen is awful and Humphries would be worse. If we're stealing British dudes for the sake of being British, get Martin Haven. Hell, get the MWM crew. THAT would be some entertainment.

It's all but over now for the championship. Vettel will 3peat thanks to Lotus punting Alonso twice. Ridanmdiculous.

It's strange. Lewis is having an awful lot of suspension failures now that he revealed he is going to Merc.

Last several races have be BORING. Where's the tires going away for crazy passing? Where's the pit problems? Where's move from out of contention into top positions? Where's the multi-team competition. All the promise of the first 1/2 of the season has turned into same old F1 IMHO.

The multi million dollar, infinite resources teams have figured it out?

Tires: I think Pirelli have reacted to the criticism that things are too unpredictable, so they have pulled it back a bit.

Pit problems: McLaren sorted that out for the most part. It still pops up from time to time. See Korea qualifying.

Move: no idea what you are asking. But if you mean where are the midfield teams mixing things up, I can help with that. Williams is just generally bad and that win was a fluke of a decent car early in the season. Sauber are a good car but need a track where a one stop strategy is possible, in order to get a podium. Force India, is mediocre. They have not impressed me much since spa 2009. Merc is not very good and they have terrible luck. Renault just lacks the pure pace. Their double-drs was a bust and I don't see them making much noise for the rest of the season.

Multi-team: if you mean intra-team competition, Ferrari can't let them race. Redbull can't let them race and McLaren is too busy sabotaging Hamilton to bother.

This season fell off a cliff once the Singapore GP was over and Lewis made his decision. For Alonso, there is no one to poach points from Vettel, and for the fans, McLaren have made a point of looking useless on raceday.

But on the plus side Gro-John didn't hit anyone this week.

Also hammy is much more interesting than finger boy.

First 8 races were a complete tease. The last 4-5 races are exactly why racing fans with multiple options haven't become F1 fanatics

I will always be a fanatic. But I am counting down to February 2013 when teams start revealing their new cars. I'm sick of Macca.

bottom line it's the same old story in the second half of the season. no passing of note among key players. basically 55 or so parade laps for who has the best technology assuming you make it through Turn 1.

That's where GROW-Jon comes in.
