Formula 1 Thread

NBC isn't doing a great job. I know f1 isn't a huge draw, but they push anything in front of the coverage.

Apparently though from the way I understood Leigh diffey on twitter qualifying was live on CNBC. He's kind of a dick to people *****ing about the curling thing, I kind of like it

Even more allsome for anyone that hasn't watched qualifying yet, they took a commercial with 10 mins to go in Q2 and come back from the break with qualifying over with. They really screwed the pooch on the coverage this time. I guess they had to hurry back to Olympic trials coverage, couldn't run late getting back to that I guess.

It's almost made more absurd by how bonkers the announcers get when any kind of pass is made. Some passes are daring and deserve excitement but sheeesh.

Yeah. I also hate how they have to act super excited about seeing Vettel win. I mean it's impressive, but damn, it is dull.

I get the irony of me saying that with a JJ avatar.

Saw this posted on another forum:

2013 in review has clearly showed that leaving the nest hasn't been a disastrous venture for Lewis. He's probably grown a lot as well, getting to drive a car that's very different from what he's used too - and at times difficult to drive. Nevertheless he managed to score poles, a victory and collect points against a fast and admirable teammate. What probably fills him with joy is that the driver Mclaren choose to replace him with and grant a yellow helmet, has been dropped after just one season. The lows of Lewis in 2013? I would say Barcelona. The highs? Hungary and Silverstone.

More is to come though. Merc's 2014 car is real reason why Lewis signed to Mercedes and I'm quiet eager to a competitive car challenging a competitive field.

Points
Lewis: 189
Mclaren: 122

Wins
Lewis: 1
Mclaren: 0

Podiums
Lewis: 5
Mclaren: 0

Poles
Lewis: 5
Mclaren: 0

They could remedy the safety issue easily. Either get rid of the pressurized systems and go with a gravity fed one like NASCAR. Or do not allow any other pit crew members touch the car while it is being refueled like sports car racing.

i would think safety more than anything. too many cases of drivers taking the fuel line with them out to the track

They coud esily make a rule that the car must be on the jacks while being fueled. This would remedy the guys airmailing the sign guy.

It's confirmed that Hulkenberg will return to Force India, while Maldonado is heading to Lotus. I know that Lotus needs the money that Pastor brings, but it's a shame IMO that he's getting that drive over Nico.

That blows. At least Grosjean cleaned up his act or Lotus would have the 2 drivers most likely to take you out on their team.

:eek:lol:

I'll give Grosjean a lot of credit for his improvement from last year to this one. He's come a long way from being the "first-lap nutcase" that Webber labelled him.

Never forget:
