Group of Republicans and Democrats form new political party to appeal to moderates
Andrew Yang and ex-GOP officials form new political party to appeal to moderates - CNNPolitics

Anyone willing to give it some consideration?
For all of those who have been saying we need more than 2 parties, here's another option.

The group cites issues including guns, climate change and abortion as those that could benefit from a moderate approach. The new party will also advocate ranked-choice voting and open primaries, the end of gerrymandering, and nationwide protection for voting rights.

Forward

Based on the responses in this thread, it's a pretty easy thing for them to do.
Because everyone knows the only way it works is for the current system to go down first. You can’t rise up in the current structure.

"for the current system to go down first".....what exactly does that mean?

I think a legitimate 3rd party would be a step in the right direction. However, we still need a legitimate 2nd party. At this point, given the democrat party’s hatred for America and relentlessness in their pursuit to turn this country into a communist hellhole, the GOP is the only option (as frustrating as that is) as of now.

As long as these 2 parties are in power there won’t be a viable 3rd party. If one or both collapse then maybe.
What would a party collapsing look like? The republican party has pretty much collapsed into the Trump party. Does that not count as a collapse? That was pretty much the trigger for the Forward party.

Fracturing. Both parties have some that happens briefly but then they get sucked right back in. It would basically have to result in that party no longer having members or having very few. The more likely scenario, and it’s not very likely, would be the whole system is torn down. That would require some kind of civilian uprising. It’s not going to happen but that also means we will never have a viable 3rd party.

So we're obviously in the nascent stages of this "Forward Party" thing but which of the two established parties would have the most defectors? Depending on exactly what turns out to be the working platform and who the candidates would be which party should be most worried about losing voters?
