at Brentwood Baptist, that Brentwood is going to have a Mosque coming in. I, for one, do not care honestly because we are a nation of free worship, but I can almost guarantee that there will be an uproar within the people of the area once this is more in the mainstream.

No doubt they are using our open permissive society and culture against us.

While we permit the Saudi's to fund mosques all over America, in Saudi Arabia it is forbidden to own a Bible or even a cross.

A simple, straight to the point comment GS.
Well said.

It will be interesting to see how the public and the city itself responds. The only reason I say the city is they are known to be uptight, hell they won't even allow the local Kroger to have vending machines outside their stores because they are "unsightly".

If its wrong for those governments or societies to shun Christianity, or to block access to it, then what would it say about us if we did the same thing to their religion?

Did I say ANYTHING about us blocking their religion in this country. The point was made that they block Christianity. That is what I agreed with.
You are a peice of work LG.

Sorry, got the impression you were advocating intolerance towards other religions.

show me a Christian church in an Islamic country where the Priest foments violence and hatred of the host country and is able to hide behind the protection of something similar to our 1st Amendment.

And?

What exactly is the alternative? I understand it is just a point you are making, but I'm unclear as to the purpose. Are you advocating a closed society?

Again, we all agree this is wrong. What point are you trying to make?

guess we'll know for sure how this is going to turn out when the Imam is named. If he's a bomb-thrower (pun intended) like the Al-wacky guy Obama put a hit on, then it's going to cause problems.

Tell the truth....you were HOPEING that I was.

No, actually was hoping as a Christian that you weren't.

But you quoted gsvol and the tenor of it suggested that to me. You say that wasn't what you meant and I accept that.

I see signs from the Tea Parties along the lines of "This is a Christan Nation," or words to that effect. For the life of me, I can't think of any reason to tout that message at such a gathering other than to promote intolerance to other religions (and by that I mean to make it arbitrarily difficult for them to practice or coexist with Christianity).

I understand that basically all religions have at their core a claim that theirs is the only true religion and that people of other faiths are doomed. But I've always felt that premise was either read too strictly or at least that its one of those things where our own judgment of others is pointless.

I did not repeat one of Pat's questions....you did repeat one of LG's.

No I didn't. Read it again. I just want to know what the purpose is.

If it was strictly to b!tch about something, so be it. If it was made as an argument about having religious freedom be a bad thing, then let's talk about it.

You confuse the lines between being a Christian and religion. They are not the same. Religion is of man, per the Bible.
Our own judgement of others is pointless. You will not see me judgeing another faith. I will only use the Bible as my basis. That is what my faith is all about.
To each his own.

As much as it pains me to say this, I thought the same thing as LG when I read your post.:)

GS's comment said NOTHING about them being blocked/banned from our country. ONLY that they ban the Christians. Jeeze

Stretch Armstrong couldn't make a reach like that, LG. How you were able to glean that from what either of them said is beyond comprehension.

Oh I know. If that was LG's point, then maybe we did reach different conclusions. I thought GS was somehow implying that our freedoms were a bad thing, seeing as how they were being "used against us." I thought you were agreeing with that.
