That is where I disagree. There is no proof the guy isn't being genuine. The spotlight is on him constantly and he doesn't make a misstep and for that he is disingenuous?

Here's my unsought response regarding a general public opinion of Tim Tebow's celebrity. A lot of people take exception to those in the public eye, especially those in the sports arena, that are perceived to have a holier than thou attitude. Personally I don't think Timmy is intentionally trying to convey that personna, however his rants after the loss to Ole Miss last year with the "nobody will work harder than me" press conference and the "thirty minutes for the rest of your life" over and over again will lead even the most forgiving observers to become a little jaded. I believe he has honorable intentions but his methods leave a lot to be desired.

I'm going to be glad when he's gone. It seems like the media hold's him on the highest pedestal known to man. I hope everyone likes hearing about him now because from here on out it's going to be "He's the next Tebow," and "Wow, that was a Tebow-like performance." Not to mention every single UF game on tv will probably have some kind of homage to Tebow for the next two seasons. He's a great player, no doubt about that. Even the most stout gater haters will maybe admit to that much, but the media worship has been beyond ego stroking. Tiger used to be like that; super polished, could never do wrong, and look how he's turned out. I'm not saying Tebow is like that, but if any dirt ever came out about him, Verne Lundquist's head would literally explode.

And you know what really really bothers me about Tebow? It's the sideline rants/yelling fits he goes off on. I really would like to hear the inner thoughts of some of the players while they're standing there, listening to him yell. "Geez, will this guy ever shut up? We're up by 30 points for God's sakes." "I can't wait til after the game and get loaded and fall asleep at an intersection at 3:30 in the morning." Those are what I would be thinking at least....

50 bucks says he's the guy on the sidelines next year that reminds you of that creepy guy who graduated 3 years ago that keeps coming to school (wearing his letterman's jacket). you know who I'm talking about, everybody knows "that guy".

This guy?

Sorta like Danny Wuerffel? He won a hypesman as well. Remember? When's the last time you heard his name mentioned?

"You and Sam became great buddies. What about you and Tim?"

"Uh... No."

First of all McCoy and Bradford are in adjoining states and play in the same conference. He was asked if they were friends like him and McCoy. That answer doesn't mean they do not get along. Even if they didn't get along what does it prove? Do any of your posts ever have a point?

Translation- he beats Tennessee every year so I don't like him.

There's not a coach in college football that wouldn't want him on his team.

I don't like the entire UF team. The fact they have owned the Vols makes me sick.

This thread is about the toolage of Tebow. Do you disagree with any of my points specifically about Tebow?

As for your point about any coach wanting him. Probably so, but I doubt say, Kiffin would recruit him as a QB based on Tebow's inability to run a pro style offense.

His answer definitely implied that him and Jesus jr didn't exactly hit it off.

As far as my point, I find it hard to imagine someone not getting along with Colt McCoy... Seems like that's something only a major tool could pull off.

Why wouldn't he have said something along the lines of "Well, I don't know Tim that well, etc"?

I actually agree that Tebow relishes the spotlight and that some of his humility is a bit contrived.

But I also think 1) his faith and charity are sincere, not feigned; and 2) with the attention he has gotten and the demands on his time and for his comments on everything imaginable, it is no surprise that he has adopted the hyped persona he currently has.

In the end, he is giving people what he thinks the want, which is the All-American gracious sports hero. I guess I would put it this way: given his personality, goals and undeniable talent and drive, really how else could it have turned out?

i'd bet good money tebow is on roids, so let's stop acting like he takes the higher road here.

50 bucks says he's the guy on the sidelines next year that reminds you of that creepy guy who graduated 3 years ago that keeps coming to school (wearing his letterman's jacket). you know who I'm talking about, everybody knows "that guy".

Bets accepted... payout by end of football season next year.
