Last week I started a thread about the 4 things I was waiting to see. Had some great responses, so I thought I would start one for game 2.

1. Defense - Keep he same intensity they showed week 1. Best I've seen in years. Only one major let down was when they let them score in 3 plays after Vols TD.

2. Running game - More push from the line, will Lane get more carries.

3. Coaches - Will they open up the offense a little more. I think game one's dink and dunk was to build up confidence and for 1st game jitters for the younger players.

4. Cam Sutton - Played an outstanding game. Seemed like he was everywhere. Wanting to see him break one with more help from his blockers. Was great to see him catching the ball and not letting it hit the ground and rolling another 10 to 20 yards.

Please add your thoughts.

Like a lot of others probably, I'm going to say running game. I would feel a little better if we can put up 200 on the ground this week

1. No let down for a noon game with a less electric atmosphere.

2. Need to see big improvement from the O-line to stand any chance in the SEC.

3. How will my wife respond to my cracking a beer at Noon?

If JW continues to throw the ball as well as he did in game one, the running game will open up.

USU decided to make him beat them with his arm. Well, he did, and did it handily. At some point, teams will either honor the pass or allow him to nickel and dime them down the field all day.

As soon as the defense spreads out to defend the "dink and dunk", you'll have more opportunity to run the ball.

What are the odds that Dobbs redshirts? On one hand, he mght benefit from a year to mature and strengthen. But, we probably cannot take the risk.

I would like to see us get to the QB while the ball is still in his hands
OL Open some holes between the tackles
Challege DB's to cover North, Peason and Croom 15+ yards down the field
Swarming to the ball like we saw Sunday night

Funny. My wife is an Ole Miss alum. She'll switch from Bloody Mary's to Gin and Tonic by 10:00 am. She'll have no idea if I'm even in the house by game time. She wins the party every time.

1. Agree. Defense was a very pleasant surprise. Heard we had subbed quite a few 2nd teamers in for the series where USU scored so quickly. Of course, it was Coleman who was toasted on the td pass, no surprise there, God bless the kid.

2. OL must improve exponentially and in a hurry. Agree that we need more push. Lane is great in small spaces and earned more carries going forward, however, 11-12 has traditionally been his max.....can he handle more? Also, I know some are down a bit on Hurd...I'm not one of them. He can house one at any time and, for some perspective, he had more production than the top freshman RB/player in the country, Leonard Fournette this weekend.

3. I didn't see our passing game as "dink and dunk"....I saw it as wisely getting the ball into the hands of your strongest unit, your best playmakers. I also saw sine nice 10-12 slants to Malone, a beautiful 27 yd completion (with no yac) to Croom and 3 or so go routes where we just didn't execute the throw/play.

4. Couldn't agree more. Well said.

Run n run n run.. Need to be able to covert short yardage running.. N the team needs to know they can covert via run..

Against ou running will be critical.. cant run a hurry off n go 3 n out especially snapping the ball with 30 secs on play clock each down.

Mines pretty simple.
Take care of business with a W.
Stay healthy.

The next week we get more questions and answers. Hopefully more of the later.

The best passing games in football are "dink and dunk". It's called getting athletes the ball in space, and letting them make plays

How is there any risk whatsoever? If Worley and Peterman get hurt, we take off the redshirt. I think it would help Dobbs tremendously to have another year to develop assuming Worley and Peterman can stay healthy.

If CBJ doesn't have to open the play book anymore than he has to, I will be ok with that. I would rather Oklahoma not have too much game film to study from our first 2 games.

Other than that, I want to see the running game open up and the O-Line get better!

***Yeah, I know I'm looking ahead a little, but we shouldn't have too much of a problem with ASU*****

It's always 5 o'clock somewhere.
