Four things I'm waiting to see. (Game 2)

Id like to se the QB keep the ball on the option when the hole is big enough to drive a truck through so the defenses will stop slanting towards the running back every play. Is that designed or is the QB that bad?

The best passing games in football are "dink and dunk". It's called getting athletes the ball in space, and letting them make plays

Agreed.

Some of these folks are going to lose their mind once it becomes obvious that our passing scheme for the entire season is exactly what we saw Sunday.

Worley will be throwing 35-40 maybe even 45-50 passes a game.

Butch gave everyone a heads up earlier this offseason. Surprised it wooshed over everyone's head.

OLine improvement: Run Blocking, Sacks, penaties...

Special Teams improvements.

Worley - Malone Timing synchronized.

No more high snaps...I hope that was wet field related.

1. Offensive Line

2. Offensive Line

3. Offensive Line

Offense will only get as far as this offensive line can take it. Worley doesn't have the mobility to keep plays alive on his own. Also, without a threat of a running game, the passing game will suffer.

4. Kicker

Just hope we can rely on Medley the whole season. I'd like to see deeper kickoffs...like out of the back of the end zone. This team is so thin that any kickoff coverage can become an adventure.

5. Depth on d line

Remains to be seen how well these guys hold up.

1. Worley = Will he be as consistent as he was game one, or was it a fluke? I hope we keep going with the dink and dunk game. We need as much confidence as we can get going into Norman. Get the easy catches, let the guys make plays, and just get in a rhythm. We need as much help as we can, going to Norman for your first road trip is going to be hard.

2. Run game. I truly expect a much different run game. We'll do what we have to do, but I think that we will focus big time on developing the run this time. Lane and Hurd had 22 carries between them. That's hardly enough. Of course, they've got to do things with those carries. That they did not do.

3. Do we leave points on the field like we did last week? No more dumb penalties for the OL. Holding and false starts have got to end. Can't be doing that and play winning football.

4. Was last week's D for real, or was it just the thrill of the first game, plus a weak opponent? Want to see if we can bring that same containment and same intensity this week to Arky State.

Sorry Guys and Gals, I didn't mean anything bad with the "Dink and Dunk" statement. Worked fairly well and could have been better if not for some drops and under throws.

Sorry again.

I'd like to see a little more push from the OL and see Hurd make a statement to why he was so highly recruited!

What are the odds that Dobbs redshirts? On one hand, he mght benefit from a year to mature and strengthen. But, we probably cannot take the risk.

I don't think we see Dobbs this year unless we see a repeat of last year. Worley & Peterman get hurt and/or Peterman doesn't show major improvement. Peterman has already redshirted and Dobbs still has his. Protect your depth going into next year and beyond.

O-Line improvement is the #1 thing we need to see this week. Whether it was communication, inexperience, etc., does not matter. We must have an O-line that can generate some push up front if we are going to compete with the big boys.

Last week I started a thread about the 4 things I was waiting to see. Had some great responses, so I thought I would start one for game 2.

1. Defense - Keep he same intensity they showed week 1. Best I've seen in years. Only one major let down was when they let them score in 3 plays after Vols TD.

2. Running game - More push from the line, will Lane get more carries.

3. Coaches - Will they open up the offense a little more. I think game one's dink and dunk was to build up confidence and for 1st game jitters for the younger players.

4. Cam Sutton - Played an outstanding game. Seemed like he was everywhere. Wanting to see him break one with more help from his blockers. Was great to see him catching the ball and not letting it hit the ground and rolling another 10 to 20 yards.

Please add your thoughts.

All of these are good. I would like to see some of those misdirection off tackle runs that we saw so much of during camp.

I would also like to see Peterman get some throws in during garbage time.

1. Reduce critical pre-snap penalties
2. O-line getting to the second level
3. Explosive plays from the passing game
4. Yards after contact from the running backs

Kinda thought the screen that he scored on was a nice statement. Quick, instinctive, good vision, nice burst.
