Now I know it's early and 1/2 the people on here will say "we just need to win games and let the rest take care of it's self."

I agree, but isn't this what this board was made for, to discuss stuff about Tennessee football? Just a thought

They have us going to the sugar bowl (with Auburn going to the NCG) against Louisville.

Two things, there is no way Louisville gets the big east now, not after watching WV put the stick to Marshall.

Yall think it's kind of a bad rap that the SECC (or in this case the number two) always goes to the Sugar bowl to play a Big East team? It seems to me it's the lowest of all the BCS bowls.

I don't see how the Sugar Bowl is any "lower" than any other of the BCS bowls. Without looking up all of the history, I'll go out on a limb and say it holds its own hosting National Championships (a few that come to mind are LSU over Oklahoma, Florida over Florida St, Florida St over Va Tech, and a whole bunch by Bama--where was Georgia's?) And while the Big East is certainly the weakest of the BCS leagues at this time, this year's winner, probably either Louisville or WVU, should be both highly ranked and a very good team.

I like the SEC/Sugar Bowl traditional tie-in, and the fact is, if you aren't in the title game, the BCS is the BCS.

I also thought the Big East had a tie-in with the Orange Bowl, but I could have dreamed that, or it could have changed with all of the BCS re-alignment.

Marshall stinks, so thats NOT the reason Louisville doesn't make it. They don't make it because Bush is out.

WVU is over rated. wow marshall is a real powerhouse, that's y WVU only beat them by 42-10. Tn coulda beat Cal who is actually a top 25 team by 50 is they wanted to, easily. we will crush marshall. i still think louisville has a chance to beat WVU, and that's what i'm praying for cause i'm sick of listenin the the guy in the cube next to me talk bout how WVU is goin to win it all. he went to school there and he's from there, and i'm sick of this garbage, he doesn't know what real football is. i told him to go to neyland and get a real game in

Personally, I still think the jury is out on both WVU and Louisville, even though they have beaten up on the SEC their last two outings, but the fact is that SOMEBODY is going to win the Big East, and they are the most likely candidates.

I agree that they might be garbage, but you can't deny they have play makers. I don't know maybe I just hate New Orleans, that's why I frown upon the sugar

How are they gonna have Auburn in the BCS champ. and us in the Sugar bowl, if only one of us can win the SEC??

Tennessee would be an AT-Large selection to a BCS bowl after losing to Auburn in the SEC CG.

Something tells me they only picked Auburn vs. USC for the national title out of recollection of the 2004 season...

Totally agree with you. The problem with WVU is they began the season as media darlings and now that Louisville lost their biggest offensive threat there is no one on their scheduele that should beat them. That's the real problem and the one that will screw us if we run the table and there are three undefeated teams. We started so low that we're going to end up screwed like Auburn if there are three undefeateds due in large part to WVU playing a cupcake scheduele all year.
But at the ame time that's why they play the games and IF WVU were to lose to somenone it wouldn't be the biggest shock ever in college football...at least not in most peoples minds.

I'll be mad if any team in the Big Least makes it to the national title game. That conferance is a joke.

3 points.
yeah, but UGA was behind the entire game and wasn't really in the game until late...the score was closer than the game actually was.

i could buy WVU in the champ. game if they are undefeated....but they won't go undefeated. and neither will L'ville.

Georgia outplayed WVU for 3 of the 4 quarters of that game.

that is what I remember, it was a good game, and the whole big east was taking how they owned the SEC...sad really.

the only thing i remember from that game is the constant shots of UGA fans in the stands in complete and utter shock and frustration about being down so big to WVU. WVU led the ENTIRE Game....that's all i need to know.

Nice spin on that game. UGA basically bombed. WV sat back with a very comfortable lead. Yes, they almost blew it but UGA clearly had their rears handed to them in that game. The fact is they lost and looked bad at it.

WVU - 502 yards
UGA - 501 yards
i think that's more of an indictment on UGA...they're the SEC champs....they're not supposed to give up 502 yards of offense to a Big East team, period. and WVU jumped out huge in the beginning, and UGA trailed the whole game.

no moral victory here for the dawgs...they got embarassed.

I haven't said any of those things. WVU was the better team that day, but not much better. It doesn't matter if you score 35 points in the first quarter or throughout the game, its 35 points. The game was a lot different than Big East fans make it sound. UGA did not get embarassed.
