Fox's The Following

The comparison to Alcatraz seems to really fit, as the ratings trend for The Following is almost the exact same as Alcatraz after 3 episodes. Both started in the 10s and dropped to just over a 9 by episode 3, and if the trend continues next week the ratings will be in the 8s.

Not looking good for the show.

Alcatraz was awful. The lead character was so bad.

Bad news for anyone still watching, last night's episode jumped down to a 7.75 rating, which is worse than Alcatraz was doing at this point. Not to mention the reviews get worse each week.

I'll admit that I contributed to lowering the rating. Didn't record last night to watch other things, set it to record this week's episode on the Saturday night rerun.

it seems like the show is getting worse by week as the ratings go down. this weeks show just seemed to be stuck in the mud and never got going. i'm afraid this one is toast

In this case, the ratings don't matter IMO. 14 episodes already scheduled and I don't think the show was designed to cover multiple seasons. JMO

It will depend on how the series plays out. If they wrap up things by the last episode, then yeah but if it's some teaser/open-ended thing, then they most certainly wanted to keep going. I'm going to guess they wanted it to be a big hit but probably covered themselves in case it wasn't.

Either way I wouldn't say "ratings don't matter". They always matter.

Haven't watched tonight's episode yet, but Fox has already signed off on a second season.

Bump. Anybody still watching this show? Season two is four episodes in and very interesting.

I watch it but the show is just a little too predictable. Everyone should have seen the woman was part of the attacks a mile away.

Loved Season One, but Season Two has lost some of the magic. Just not as good IMO.

Agree. I think the whole storyline with Hardy going rouge has something to do with it.

Killing Claire seemed pointless and actually took away from the story IMO. She served a purpose as something Joe and Ryan fought over, and humanized Joe to a degree. I enjoyed watching the deranged killer trying to pull his family back together, all the while sticking to his deranged ways. It was interesting. This season just feels forced. It has nothing of the flow of Season One.

And she's alive. I honestly didn't see that one coming.
