I saw that, and saw reported on several news sources that he's Christian.

Backpack guy followed him the entire time. Tried to close on him multiple times. Looks like he might have taken a couple stabs/slashes too.

We don’t know who was filming do we? What if it was a little old lady? What if it was another mother with a child behind her?

These weren’t heavily armed cops standing down while carnage ensued.

Yeah it's one thing if it was some little ole lady recording it. The sad thing is it would surprise me if this were the case. I don't see little old ladies just standing there recording quietly. I heard a pastor recently telling the story of how his 17 year old son was at a pretty busy intersection when a pretty bad accident happened. His son jumped out if his car and ran and pulled 3 people out of the burning vehicle. All of this while a whole crowd of able-bodied people just stood there and recorded the whole thing.

Sadly,this is the bystander effect in a nutshell. Most people are like "Oh well, someone else will help... No need for me to get involved" Sometimes it's best to play it safe in certain situations,but most of the time, people just want to do like you said. Start recording everything.

Recording the crimes does help get the perpetrators convicted. A lot. Also, getting involved puts you at risk of not only violence but also getting sued or arrested. I don’t blame the individuals. I blame governments and society.

I don't know that getting involved would get one sued in France. I don't think they're as litigious as we are.
