Why don't we go after Martin? He's a proven coach and a salesman.

We apparently are going to go cheap. While he is a good choice I fear he will be too expensive.

Most of you have no idea, or dont care, about character if you want Martin.

He would have been one of the first calls, IMO. He won't come, but it'd be an excellent hire.

Martin was heavily involved with AAU the same years I was in '95-'97. He was heavily involved with Sonny Viccaro. He got his HS players in Miami PAID. He shouldn't be in the discussion for the position and stance UT and the NCAA is taking right now.

for starters

Miami High was fined $2500 and forced to reimburse more than $5000 in expenses incurred during the FHSAA's investigation. Five players, including [Udonis] Haslem, were barred from ever playing for Miami High again. The school was required to return the 1998 state championship trophy. Head coach Frank Martin (lauded in the Herald article) was fired, along with the school's athletic director.
"This is one of the most, if not the most, blatant violations of FHSAA rules against recruiting that I have encountered in my seven years as commissioner of this association," said Ron Davis when he handed down the penalties in August 1998.

Travis Ford.

You know I'm kind of surprised OSU ended up taking him. Weren't they shooting quite a bit higher than that at the time? I seem to recall that he was more of a backup plan, but I don't remember their main targets.
