That is the word...

Apparently Marshall wasn't interested(not that I blame him) and Frank Martin has strong interest in the job(kind of an odd fit, and weird to leave KSU for USCjr). If so, good for USCjr and good for the SEC.

Thoughts?

Highly doubt this ends up happening. I know that it probably sucks always being second fiddle to KU, but he's built such a good program there that I don't know why he'd leave for SC other than location.

to get established before some of the also rans started beefing up. Look for USC to become a major player with Thornwell again. If they ever get a coach who can keep the SC kids from going to the ACC, they'll have a solid program.

Well, if this is true, Slive better balance the conference schedules. The East is gonna be BRUTAL.

Yea, with Mizzou coming, its going to be tough. Kentucky, Vand, Florida, Mizzou, us, and probably USCe within a few years could all be tourney teams... damn

There is no "east" anymore.

I get what you're saying though. Simplest solution IMO and fairest is, a 16 game schedule, alternating home/away, playing everybody once.

That's 13 games, for the other 3 you have 3 teams you play twice. Year 1 you play them, year 2 you flip flop home/away with those teams. After 2 years it's a new 3 teams.

I don't like the idea of playing everybody once and then having 3 set rivals you'd play twice each year, not fair IMO. We'd have to play Kentucky, Florida and Vanderbilt twice each year while Alabama would play probably auburn, ole miss and say Georgia. Not fair at all IMO.

But twitter said coach Cal was going to USC LMAO

Of course, Twitter could say John Calipari was going to South Carolina, and people would retweet it and believe. So ... yeah ... we'll see.

Mizzou coming in has no more of an effect than Texas A&M. We will be playthem everyone once.

K-State recruiting has been down the last two years. Recruits have said current players have told them to stay clear of Martin because he's tough on players and very foul mouthed. That has been discussed lately on KC sports talk radio.

He wanted the Miami job after Haith left but didn't get a look. He is from Miami area.

One of the most volatile personalities in college basketball.

I know it was a joke about Cal and USC jr. But the New York Knicks job is open Calapari's name will be in for it.

IMO, if the Knicks cant get Phil Jackson they should keep Woodson. Dude did a hell of a job in ATL and is doin pretty good right now as the interim. He'll have them playin great D which is what that team needs. Cal just isnt an NBA coach imo.
