Vols need to chill about this recruiting class.

You went 0-8 in the East, and Butch had given up half way through the season. Then the AD botched the coaching search - which further turned recruiting into a tail spin. Finally, Pruitt coached 'Bama through the NC (which was admirable).

You did well in the early signing process. He's already brought elite recruits into Knoxville. Dude has shown he can coach. Give the man some time.

Given what happened last year, it wasn't as if he was going to legitimately beat GA for a ton of recruits.

Of course, I'm happy that my Ags have pulled Tank Jenkins (4* OL), James Foster (4* QB), and Bobby Brown (4* DL) just today, with still being in the mix for 9 or 10 more players.

Ya'll will be fine. Chill.

This. Must be this. Plus we need to hit on a QB. Either JG or Shroudt or even get a good year from a Chryst. A transformative QB will cure a lot of ills.

Happens all the time. Also, several will leave after a year or so when they are standing on the sideline watching all the other 5-star players who are just a little bit better than them.

I'm doing fine...not worried at all and sure as hell not crying about it...not the Vol way...so pull up your panties and grow a pair and if you want to ***** about the class go somewhere else and cry in your sasparilla...:)

I didn't read many comments here but some of the few I did are completely embarrassing because one can only assume those ready to jump off a cliff or bite someone's ear off really don't understand reality and set themselves up for a major disappointment (now granted some of those folks aren't Vol fans at all I get that). But some are fans that are so out of touch with reality its pathetic...give this staff 2 years and see where we are....THEN YOU CAN JUMP OFF THE CLIFF (Please send videos if you choose to jump because that would truly be entertaining and could be used as a training video in my chosen profession).

With Pruitt recruiting several of these kids while at Ga and Bama, does this show the kids sign with the school more so than the coaches? I was always going to wait till this Fall to decide on Pruitt as HC (and I think this staff will be good) but not everyone is cut out to be a head coach. There are a lot more details to keep up with being a HC vs a coordinator. Ala, Ga, and FSU will always have top classes because of where they are located. A perfect example is FSU. Basically same position as Tenn was in. Bad season, new coach with little time to recruit, and still having some success. Tenn will be lucky to consistently be top 10, much less top 5 in recruiting. This not the 90's when college football was dominated by a few schools.
Just a question for thought. Would you have preffered CJP have the class he is signing, or the class Jones had committed?

MY God everyone needs to quit having a melt down and just cool down. Pruitt and company haven't even coached a game this year, and everyone is calling for their heads. This is why we can't build a foundation and win we keep running off every coach we have!!!

He put on a Tennessee cap, like he was committing to us. Then he yanked it off his head and threw it across the room, popped open his jacket to reveal a Georgia shirt, and then put on a Georgia hat.

As someone said, "It is his moment", but I'm not okay with anyone disrespecting the Vols!

Coaching means everything, Butch had great talent, just could not develop it. Pruitt and his staff will fool a lot of teams this year and then roll in more talent next year. Just be patient. At least he has an AD who will help him, not like the past 3 duds we had.

that's a good question. for the most part jones recruited talented players, he just was piss poor at using them and developing them. if Pruitt can develop players, none of this will matter. he will make Tennessee better, then the 5 star players will start to take notice that UT is on the rise and then start coming. this was never a 1 year fix it gig. anyone who thought it was, was delusional
