Freak's night before South Carolina game admittedly off topic thread

We were there on Thanksgiving weekend and the ferry wasn't running. Otherwise we were headed over there. Her aunt lives way down south of Mobile, right at the entrance to the east side of the bay.

That sucks, Lambert's is the business. Definitely must try it.

My dad's side of the family is die hard Auburn, my mom's side is die hard Alabama. Im in it all alone. Even my cousins and aunt in Tennessee are Alabama fans.

My grandfather was a Vol fan from back in the pre-Neyland days. My dad went to UT. My mom didn't go to UT, but all three of her brothers did. I grew up in Knoxville; I've got two degrees from UT. I met my wife at UT. My sister went to UT. There's no family conflict at all in my house. We argue about religion and politics, but never about football.

Hard to believe that UT has been so disfunctional that it's the first time so many lettermen are returning. It's like we've never really appreciated just how good we've been.

I can't believe it's the first time Tony Robinson has ever been back. That guy is the greatest QB who's ever played the position while wearing a Vol uniform -- including everybody -- and apparently he's never even been back to Knoxville since 1986. I don't care how badly his life has gone; it's stupid that we've never figured out a way to bring him back even once.

It's going to be neat to hear/see the reactions of some of the ones who never got to run through the T before, the ones who played before it started.

The one thing I regret about growing up in GA is not getting to see any of the Majors era. I hear the stories and grimace inside. Chuck Webb may have been the best running back we ever had, Tony Robinson the most talented QB we ever had, etc. So many great players...

Most of the Majors era was pretty indifferent. But yeah, there were a few great players. I'd agree that Webb was our best RB. Robinson our best QB. Reggie White. Willie Gault was a little bit of a sideshow act in the NFL, but he was amazing at UT. Etc.
