It's that time of year. I would expect to hear of more transfers before the spring term begins.

Hmmmm wonder if she's considering Tenn.. If she's looking for playing time.. she's from MD so she might become a Terp

UCONN is closer to home than Knoxville so I doubt the Lady Vols get a look. Also. She seels to have a nagging injury.

CT just isn't THAT far from MD.

Makes me think they (her and the coaches) didn't think it was going to work out.

Boykin hurt her wrist about a year ago and sat most of the season which IMO dropped her down the rankings in the class of 2015. Lately it's been an achilles problem. I'm very sorry to see her go. With her, UConn's size next near would have been very adequate. Without her a lot now depends on either Tuck staying or Butler becoming a top 10 center a year from now.

Being away from home, injured & unable to play the game you love can wear down a very young adult.

From what I remember, her list was down to CT, TN, MD & P St. The only rumor I heard was Penn St.

There is obviously some Conflict between the UCONN players. Maybe they don't all get along well together.

No doubt! In fact, I just read a post about potential conflict between Uconn players on this very message board, in this thread no less! And now there is a second suggesting that there might be conflict at Uconn or why else would someone else transfer? So, it must be true because where this is an unsubstantiated report of smoke, there must be fire. :devilsmoke:

Terps are stacked in the paint and she isn't the Brenda Frese Type of Post Player imo. I would love to see her here as she would be a great addition and would be great to replace Graves

Seeing her play in high school and knowing the type of player she is, I was surprise she chose UConn to begin with. She is a banger and is very athletic (reminds me a lot of Glory Johnson) and with Tuck having 2 more years left and the addition of Collier (and Gabby playing some 4) it would have been a few years before she got the chance to play. I would love to have her replace Graves but I think she would stay local (DC/MD area) her and her brother are really close (he is legally blind) and being close to family is important to her. I could see her ending up at Penn State, West Virginia, or GW (she would be a great replacement for Jonquel Jones)

I think that she was having several problems that all added to her decision. She has had nagging injuries, apparently significant academic problems, along with the possible PT issues given Collier's recent success. She also has a handicapped brother that she is very close to (EDD redux?) and being away from him may have played a part.

I also heard that Penn St is a done deal.

Ever driven I-95 between CT and MD? The distance is way farther than the mileage. That part of I-95 is the nations largest parking lot.

You have to drive through New Haven, New York City, Newark, Philly, and Baltimore. Lots of bridges, lots of toll booths, lots of bridges with toll booths! Too many major urban areas. It's a very different drive than Knoxville to Nashville.

Wow. With traffic that bad, sounds like a negative for going to UCONN in the first place. :)

My guess is it was the academics.

I-95 traffic IS that bad - and I didn't mention the always ongoing construction.

So far traffic doesn't appear to have affected recruiting. :whistling: However, NYC is a great place to visit and CT has some of the best train service in the country.

If she is having academic problems at a public school, how in the world would she be able to keep up at GW?

GW has programs for Athletes who are struggling academically (IEP/Modified coursework), there have been several players make it in and be successful at GW if the claim they have a "learning disability" and test can prove it

The northeast in general is one giant parking lot. I do agree though that part of i95 is a nightmare. Oh and the beltway around Washington DC at rush hour is probably the worst traffic I've ever been in

So far this year UCONN is not beating everyone by 40 or more points so starting players are playing more minutes. I am not saying that UCONN is having problems but it is difficult to keep 12 to 14 superstars happy, especially when they are doing more bench time versus playing time. That being said I do not see Genno putting up with a potential toxic situation.
