Didn't UNC also have "modified coursework" for all of its athletes? Isn't that why they are under investigation?

UNC had modified classes (classes that didn't exist/no teachers) students with "learning disabilities" can have their assignments modified so that they are able to be successful, for example instead of a 10 page typed paper they may only have to do 4 to 5 pages and etc, on a multiple choice final exam their test may only have 20
Questions while everyone else have 50 but theirs are scored as if they had 50 questions to give them a better shot at success

So far this year UCONN is not beating everyone by 40 or more points so starting players are playing more minutes. I am not saying that UCONN is having problems but it is difficult to keep 12 to 14 superstars happy, especially when they are doing more bench time versus playing time. That being said I do not see Genno putting up with a potential toxic situation.

Conflict between the UConn players? Toxic situation? I don't understand where this stuff is coming from. As the story goes, she wanted to be closer to home, and in addition, also had some academic troubles.

Playing time is always an issue at UConn, but the players know that coming in. Being a star in high school star does not always translate to playing time in college. It's usually earned in practice. I think some players THINK they can deal with the bench time, then decide they can't. There are so many reasons why a player might want to transfer.

While it's true that, so far, UConn is not beating all teams by 40 points, they are winning by an average margin of 33.5 points. That provides ample playing time for most of the bench players.... some will not get much time no matter the circumstances.

Contrary to popular belief, UConn does not have 12-14 superstars. They have but two. But they also have a great supporting cast. Of the 12 on the roster, two are walking wounded, 3 are role players and the rest get the most of the minutes.

UConn had one "toxic" situation
that I can remember. It was probably not the only one, but it was a very public one. You are correct in that it was not tolerated. There were a couple of other cases where a player did not want to do what was asked of them. They got "homesick."

Incidentally, UConn's MOV is 33+ while playing the toughest schedule in D1. That will change soon as UConn enters conference play. MOV will go up and SOS will nosedive.

You have to drive through New Haven, New York City, Newark, Philly, and Baltimore. Lots of bridges, lots of toll booths, lots of bridges with toll booths! Too many major urban areas. It's a very different drive than Knoxville to Nashville.

It's true about the toll booths in the northeast. I hated them growing up, even though my older brother spent one summer working as a toll collector.

I'm not sure how long ago this was but Connecticut at least abolished all toll roads.

I think this is a pretty good explanation about why she transferred. I would add that I think there is a similarity to the Delle Donne transfer to Delaware - homesickness accentuated by having a sibling she is very close to who has a physical disability.
