Krenzel and Abraham have pitched. I don’t believe Strickland has yet. Kuhns will pitch on Tuesday.Surprised we haven’t seen Teghan Kuhns yet. Is he still ill? There was talk he’d be a weekend starter back in the fall.
Have any of the freshmen pitched? Krenzel? Strickland? Abraham? I don’t recall any on the bump so far.
I thought both coaches had to agree to the 7-inning run rule prior to each game? Wonder why Tony does that in these games when he could get the younger guys some reps and ABs? I wouldn't necessarily be running my starters out there for 9 innings, but if you're up 10+ after 7, you ought to be able to play the guys who won't otherwise see the field that often.Same. Not sure what their plans are for Hayse or how healthy he is or isn’t. I know the 7 inning games haven’t helped with getting more folks on the mound.
until yesterday the weather has be less than desirable. no one wanted to be out there.I thought both coaches had to agree to the 7-inning run rule prior to each game? It's been said by many people that Tony hates the run rule, but I also think if an opposing coach wants the run rule, he will never object to it.I thought both coaches had to agree to the 7-inning run rule prior to each game? That was my understanding as well re: Tony's feelings on the run rule (not liking it). I guess objecting to it can make it tough to schedule games with opponents in the future if you openly object to their request, although I'd imagine they are being financially compensated for their beatings. And the exposure of playing a team like Tennessee is invaluable, as well. It's been said by many people that Tony hates the run rule, but I also think if an opposing coach wants the run rule, he will never object to it.
Tony has been vocal in his desire to play 9 innings because he wants as many players to get experience as possible. It’s a two-pronged deal as he truly wants the kids to get to play, and he also wants the innings to help the staff to begin to piece together the puzzle required to determine best lineups in various situations. That being said, it’s not his call, at least not completely.I thought both coaches had to agree to the 7-inning run rule prior to each game?
