It will be hard to trace, but the basketball program borrowed an old Orgeron technique. Here is the huge potential problem...the 8 million pound gorrilla. Deny if you'd like, but they were funneling money to recruits via AAU coaches through an out-of-state attorney with no ties to tennessee. Giove money to the lawyer, who gives it to a coach who gives it to a high-schooler. Brilliant. No pre-existing booster relationship. And attorney-client priviledge, to boot. Orgereon used it at USC and Ole Miss before taking it to Knoxville. UT football is in the cross-hairs on this, too, obviously. Pearl thought it was brilliant, until sitting face-to-face with Indianapolis. Orgeron hasn't been caught yet, so it has been impossible to prove, thus far. But there was a reason Bruce was crying in the presser!

The NCAA is finished with its UT baseball investigation. The reason they haven't announced an "all-clear" is because of the institutional control question. If baseball was a stand-alone issue, raleigh would have already had his hand slapped and it would be over. Instead, Todd has to wait and see what messes the NCAA can prove against Orgeron, Pearl and hammilton. By itself, UT baseball is a footnote.

I had not heard things this specific before, but I had heard of a Pearl/O connection. This is from the same poster who had a lot of inside details into the secondary violations.

Sorry, that seems a little far fetched. We know from experience that college kids are not good at hiding the perks they receive (cars, houses, jobs, etc.), so I can't imagine that a bunch of high school kids (and their parents and their AAU coaches and their teammates) could keep a lid on that kind of thing for very long.

I told Pearl that two krystals and a coke just wouldn't get him to sign! Even if the change came from a lawyer. He would not believe me.

@wesrucker Kind of nervous about the basketball situation. Is there any comfort on the horizon, or is it about to get much worse. Heard both

@shot0fclarity08 I don't know. Depends on who you talk to. Think more people at UT are nervous than aren't. Depends how much is uncovered. And you just don't lie to the NCAA and get away with it.

if it's there, they'll find it. if not now, later. the ncaa and the media loves a good witch-hunt. maybe the media even moreso. that's why 6 months after the ncaa wrapped up their eric bledsoe investigation newspapers are still re-printing the same old stories....uk and ut are similar in the passion of their fanbases and anyone looking for a hit to their website will be talking about stuff and speculating. just enjoy the ride.

There are more than a few members on this site who could positively support or effectively refute this line of thought.

I doubt they will, but they might.

Parrish said today that the issue was recruits visiting pearls home and it revolves around Aaron craft who allegedly had his pic there. Dang I wish Pearl wouldn't have lied over that minor thing. Parrishs story coincides with the loi of contact with recruits moreso then all these rumors about money.

How do you know for sure if it was actually Parrish talking? Did you see him? Nothing but assumptions at this point.

Photo of recruit at Pearl's house key GoVolsXtra

"A picture taken of a recruit at Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl's home during an unofficial visit nearly two years ago will play a key role into how the NCAA's investigation into the men's basketball program develops."
He maybe referring to this..

I'm going to have see more than this if this is going to be believable. I'm so sick of these damn message board rumors.

If any of this is true, Pearl and Hammy will both be gone faster than you can say "Vols." Just my two cents.

i'm a UK fan so i know exactly where you're coming from on this. believe it or not, i hope that it all blows over and nothing comes of it. I think BP is a great fit @ UT and has done wonders for ur program. Like u said though, take the message board stuff, read it and forget it and wait for substantial stuff to come out from people who really matter (UT/NCAA). Other than that, you just gotta wait out the storm.
