It will be hard to trace, but the basketball program borrowed an old Orgeron technique. Here is the huge potential problem...the 8 million pound gorrilla. Deny if you'd like, but they were funneling money to recruits via AAU coaches through an out-of-state attorney with no ties to tennessee. Giove money to the lawyer, who gives it to a coach who gives it to a high-schooler. Brilliant. No pre-existing booster relationship. And attorney-client priviledge, to boot. Orgereon used it at USC and Ole Miss before taking it to Knoxville. UT football is in the cross-hairs on this, too, obviously. Pearl thought it was brilliant, until sitting face-to-face with Indianapolis. Orgeron hasn't been caught yet, so it has been impossible to prove, thus far. But there was a reason Bruce was crying in the presser!
The NCAA is finished with its UT baseball investigation. The reason they haven't announced an "all-clear" is because of the institutional control question. If baseball was a stand-alone issue, raleigh would have already had his hand slapped and it would be over. Instead, Todd has to wait and see what messes the NCAA can prove against Orgeron, Pearl and hammilton. By itself, UT baseball is a footnote.
I had not heard things this specific before, but I had heard of a Pearl/O connection. This is from the same poster who had a lot of inside details into the secondary violations.
