I dunno...I don't boo anyway, but this is a football game. Should we also let them score the first touchdown? Maybe not tackle quite as hard because we might hurt our future servicemen?

I don't think that on the football field we should give any preferential treatment. If you feel you should boo the other teams, boo air force, too. If you don't believe in booing air force, don't boo anyone.

These guys are going to one day serve this country, but right now they're going to school for free. Let's not give them any preferential treatment, because I can't in any way say that they are more important than any other kid that steps out on that field.

It's gotta be one way or the other.

I agree. I just posted in another thread that I think booing is pretty dumb anyway and I don't do it, but I just don't get this. Should we also not make noise when they are on offense out of respect? How did this become a matter of patriotism?
Excellent point. I am going to be making noise all night long. I want us to win this game and if we can confuse them like Cal-so be it. I am not going to boo them, I will applaud them when the enter the field but I expect it to be loud when they have the ball.

Didn't say not to make noise. After the kickoff it is business as usual. Just don't think it would be appropriate to boo them when they come out. Just a thought.

Don't get me wrong, I will be raising hell from the opening kick-off til the final second ticks off the clock. I am the type of person the little old people hate because I am standing and screaming the whole game. They tend to get their depends in a wad.

I can see what you're saying. I guess the reason it's hard for me to understand is that I think booing the opposing team when they come out of the tunnel is pretty dumb anyhow.

They are serving their country right now. They are considered memebers of the United States Armed Forces and are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Yes, they are going to school for free, but lets not confuse the Air Force Academy with a typical public University. The cadets are held to extremely high standards both physically and academically.

No servicemember should be booed. However, if the Falcons pull of the upset, storming the field in a gettysburg recreation is acceptable.

This is the second thread about this exact subject, and I find it to be, well, stupid. Football is FOOTBALL people. There's no reason to treat the AFA any different than Cal.

I do too, unless it is one of the teams that I despise. But fans boo the away team every game. When they come out in groups of 2 or 3 for warm-ups or when they come out for the game in doesn't matter, the fans always boo.

Reggie Jackson once said, "They don't boo nobodies." I have always seen booing as a show of respect. You only boo teams, players, and coaches you see as some sort of threat. To not boo a team imparts the idea that you don't think they are worthy of concern.

Some say it's not right to boo a service academy because they're our team too. Do you think Neyland will boo them? I know we'll give them noise.

People are looking too much into this. The Air Force Service Academy and The Air Force Football squad, though comprised of the men that serve our country, are two different things. Bottom line: Treat them to the Neyland Stadium experience. Be loud, screw up their plays, and make them not to be able to communicate.

This is stupid. Maybe the dumbest discussion I have ever seen in my life, so I will break it down for everyone.

If you feel like Booing Air Force, then Boo Air Force

If you want to applaud Air Force, then applaud Air Force.

If you don't know what to do, then do nothing.

Seriously this is like getting on here and having a 5 page discussion about what color under-roos your going to wear to the game Saturday.

Just do whatever the hell you want to do and then watch the game, there is a game after Air Force runs out on the field isn't there? or are they just going to run out and gauge rather East Tennessee is un-American by the reaction given to them by Neyland then run back in and fly back to Colorado.

My rant is over.

Sidenote: There getting $800,000+ to play this game, I really don't think they give two :censored: if there Boo'ed, or cheered.

What if we boo them before the game and applaud them when they come out after halftime?
