Fuad still cheezed at Dooley

After the exodus of Dooley, I remember Fuad Reveiz spit quite a bit of venom towards Dooley, much more so than I would say a radio personality probably should. It appeared quite personal.

After the game on Saturday, it was brought up again. He almost seethed when he recounted hearing Derek Dooley tell Palardy, "don't ***** it up" as he was going out on the field to take a kick, and how CBJ's approach lends itself to a much more consistent player.

Anyone know why he's still all bent out of shape given that Dooley has moved on? It just sort of struck me as add that we had just won a great game, and he was still railing on the old coach.

Look at his(Dooley's) teams. Enough said.

I'm willing to bet it has something to do with either 1) His boys not having NFL careers or 2) Not enought azz kissing!

Who the fuad is Fuad Reveiz?

Needs to get over it and move on

Better times are ahead. UT finally has a real football coach.

That being said, every Vol fan for a generation has every right to bash Dooley with as much humor or as much venom as they desire. Bashing Dooley should never get old. It should be part and parcel of Vol culture for the next 20 years.

Dooley was just that bad. He has earned it. To do less would be to diminish his legacy.

Agreed. I hope Fuad continues to call him Doofus every week.

Actually, Mike Hamilton is the one who should be forever bashed. Dooley was just an incompetent opportunist taking advantage of the largesse that Hamilton was throwing around fired coaches, his hires, like there was no tomorrow. It is hard to think of any coach that Hamilton hired who had any real success, unless one considers Pearl and his NCAA baggage to be success. And, even with Pearl, UT paid a pretty big NCAA price for that. So, Hamilton is the one deserving 365, 24/7 bashing and yet it is he who will "escape," and seems to already have, his asinine, program destructive, coaching hires, like Dooley.

I still think its funny when he trashes him. I dont mind it, if he had his own show and all he did was trash him then I would be a little more turned off. Lets face it the guy hurt the program more than he helped it, and got paid millions to do it. Its gonna take awhile for some to let it go.

losing to UK is good for 25 years of anti-Dooley emotions, in my mind. I have to suffer UK fans in bball season already, that streak was all I had

Amen and Amen. Least we not forget what Hammie did to the Baseball Program also. Hammie is the one that gets my scorn. Of course the Trustees turned around and screwed that hire up with Hart.....He and Cheek need to go next.

Does NOT LETTING IT GO and NOT MOVING ON take away anything from the new excitement?...doesn't for me...let victims of the last three seasons deal with the trauma each in their own way..the moveon.org people and the stomp on Dooley's embers crowd...alls good! :)

Fuad is not the only one still cheesed at Dooley. As a fan imo, he ranks up there with some chitty characters that have either been rival coaches or people negatively associated with the program in some aspect( I.E. Spurrier, Kiffin, Hamilton etc). Dooley was a horrible coach no doubt, but I just hated the way he treated former players that just wanted to come around the program.

While I agree that Hamilton shares some blame, people don't need to "bash" anyone. Mistakes were made. That is in the past, and no one can do anything about it. It won't help to bash anyone. Mike Hamilton is a good man, and new story that came out about him is inspiring. He could have retired and counted his money, but he didn't. He didn't make some decisions because he wanted UT to fail- they just turned out bad after the fact. Get over it- move on.

No, the hires were bad before the fact. No major program would have considered the hires MH made, except for the desperate hire of LK by Mike Garrett, when no other coach would consider it because of upcoming sanctions. As far as an inspiring story about MH, that is all well and good and maybe he has found his niche, but his malfeasance at UT is inexcusable.

Fuad defended him til the end though. Would not hardly say a negative word about Dooley until he got canned. Guess he was carrying the Sports Animal edict til UT blew Dooley out.

Butch replacing Dooley is like passing a kidney stone. If the pain hadn't been so intense, the feeling of relief wouldn't be so good.

Many mornings when I'm between that state of sleep and being awake I sometimes have a thought that Dooley is still the coach. I panic, wake up fully with a cold sweat, and remember. The relief is like nothing else.

Eh, give it time, people will get over the Doolster. Just look at how long it took people to get over Kiffin.

"It's time to move on" I'm tired of hearing this den mother talk from posters. Just worry about your damn selves, k? Dooley nearly destroyed UT football and walked away with $5mil in his pocket for it.

No, I think he should earn that money with our eternal bashing lol

I heard Fuad's remarks and, while his personal animosity toward Coach Dooley was interjected, he was trying to illustrate why Palardy is performing so much better this season...and from a kicker's perspective.

With kickers & punters, the difference between outstanding and mediocre (on game day) is directly related to confidence. Coach Dooley's approach to instilling confidence in a player was to tell the guy "don't f it up." Coach Jones approach is "you're going to win a game for us, big guy."

It explains a lot, really, across the board. When players are tired in the 4th quarter...and somebody needs to make a play... Coach Jones is offering encouragement...he's showing confidence in the players, believing that someone will come through when the chips are down. As a result, the 4th quarter has (pretty much) belonged to the Vols, this year. Even in the games they lost.

Fuad's point was well made...even if there was some vitriol in them.
