What's the consensus on how many we can take this year?

For 2017 the exact number is still up in the air. If both McDaniel & Lewis are places in the 2016 class then that will allow us to sign 27 players for 2017. If they end up counting against us for 2017 then that means we are left with 25. The consensus & talk is the number is 25 total commits are allowed for 2017 but I don't believe the NCAA has officially ruled on this situation yet.

I think they have to by December. We will know for sure by then whether the number will be 25 or 27 commits that we're allowed to sign in the 2017 class.

The timing of our signing of them & the people that know more about these type situations are saying these two players will count against us & therefore we will be allowed 25 recruits to be signed for 2017.

We're already at that number right now anyhow. CBJ will be looking at a player dump for commits coming up soon. How many is a guess to everybody but I've always said it will be ~4-6 players.

We've got to get at least one 5* recruit that's left. The others will need to be 4* recruits in order to probably get us a top 10 class for 2017. Thanks for your interest & hopefully I explained how it works so you can understand.

Yes, the 5* recruit is certainly Trey Smith. There are several 4* recruits that we are after but where we stand with some of them are not too good. Recruits like OL T.J. More, OL Taderell Slaton, OL Adrian Ealy, OL Thayer Munford, OL Saahdiq Charles(already committed to LSU), RB Cam Akers, WR's Jeremiah Holloman & Jaylen Harris, ATH Devon Hunter, DE's LaBryan Ray, Deron Irving-Bey & Matthew Butler, DT's Elijah Conliffe, Romello Martin, & Xach Gill, LB's Tyler Taylor & Nathan Proctor, CB's Lamont Wade & Brad Stewart, S's Todd Harris, "Tank" Robinson, & Jaylen Kelly-Powell.

You asked where we stood with both Cam Akers & Lamont Wade. We have a shot at landing them both but since the loss to USCe things have calmed down with Wade bigtime & while we still have a chance but it's looking more & more like he might be heading to Penn State now.

As for Akers, we have never been the frontrunner for him but we have most certainly been in the running. Right now, it's FSU, Ole Miss, Ohio State, & UT the top 4 for Akers in no particular order but I think FSU is the favorite with OSU being 2nd. We'll see though.

CBJ has been known to pull off some great ones when it comes to NSD. All of those recruits I mentioned above ALL are either 5* or 4* recruits. There are no 3*'s in there.

There are even some 3*'s too that could still be a factor as well but in order for us to get a top 10 class we must sign nothing else but 4* & 5* recruits. There are also a couple of 4*'s that I didn't mention because we're not considered a factor in their consideration at this time.

Thanks .

It sucks to hear that about wade. I was hoping he could come in and replace Sutton. I am hoping to get Akers because he would be the cherry on top with Kelly, chandler and cfa

You're welcome buddy. Wade I wouldn't say is 100% gone to PSU but I'd have to put it at 80%-90%+ right now.

About 6 weeks ago UT would have been at that 80%+ but not now. Akers is still a chance because you never know & let's hope CBJ & his staff is still really on him hard. Thanks for the questions & feel free to ask any time.
