This hick couldn't care less what a director does. Whatever he does he did a crappy job in Full Metal Jacket. Even the foley editing sucked.

He had more talent in his poop than most other directors of the rom coms you love. And...the foley editing was on point. The shower room scene at the end of the first half...and the second half, it's a war movie, I mean at least make an effort to be schmarmy.

Proudly a Kubrick fanboy, you bet. I have more favorite directors than actors. Coen Brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, Fincher, Scorsese, Safdie Brothers, the list goes on. Sure they may make a stinker every once in a while but their visions are what you can count on more than any other cinematic element.
