It's time to stop listening to the negavols, the same goobers who got Phil fired in the first place.

You see where that got us. It got us Kiffy and Dooley.

Let's just hire him back. It's time to admit the mistake, bring him back, and lift this damnable curse that's been on us since we dumped him.

Firing Fulmer didnt get us those guys. You realize in 08 we could have had Brian Kelly and in 09 Kevin Sumlin. UT mad horrible hires, doesnt mean wrong decision was made about Fulmer. I think it should have been done differently, but still...

Two things I wish never happened.

I wish Ainge never was instructed to go for the hail mary at the end of the first half Vs. ND in 04.

I wish Duke had never hired Cutcliffe as their head coach in 2007 offseason.

If those things never happened then Fulmer is likely just retiring or still our coach and 05/08 debacles never happened.

Congratulations Coach! We all owe this man a ton of thanks. I will be the first to admit that I was glad to see him replaced. The game had passed him up, it seemed, and a change was needed. But after the past five years and all the hard times this program has seen, I now have even more respect for what he did here.

I know the SEC is tougher now than when he had his great run. But for him to win even then and have the success he had so many years in a row is impressive. Since he has been gone it has been so hard to be a UT fan. Depressing barely begins to describe the last five years. Fulmer loved this school and had such great passion for what he did. His players loved him and he set a great example for them as well. I wish it could have ended on better terms for him and his family.

Hopefully whoever we hire next will reach out to Fulmer for advice and have the same success. Let's get behind whoever they hire next and get back to winning. My heart can't take much more of this losing. Go Vols!!

I was a Sophomore living in Gibbs during his last successful season (2007). I would routinely see him in the cafeteria while eating lunch, and he was always friendly and approachable. It was truly bittersweet when he was carried off the field after the Kentucky game in 2008, but it was his time to go. He'd led us as far as he could, and I thank him for the time here. He is the reason this program was relevant throughout the 90's and early 2000's. I have no doubt about that. Congratulations on the Hall of Fame Coach Fulmer. You truly deserve it.

Congrats, Coach. Very well deserved. You have left good memories in this old brain. Still remember the big orange moon that night that you lifted the big crystal football skyward.
