Anybody think that Fulmer will hire an OC that actually has an open attack.I don't know about you but I'm getting sick and tired of the dink and dunk and run up the middle offense. You'd think he'd get an OC that can actually utilize our talent. It seems like Fulmer always gets his way.

That's just the problem though. We could run 5 wides and throw it 60 times and the results would be the same. We're just not very good at throwing and catching the football.

Exactly. Our WR are just plain pathetic right now. Almost beyond my comprehension, really.

We have trouble executing a simple check down.

How can anyone say that when players who did good to great last year and bombing this year are just in one down year? Do they not see there's a deeper issue? Our receivers played better last year, our blocking was better last year, our passing was better......

Someone figure out what is happening here and fix it.

There is obviously something going on that is a lot deeper than playcalling.

It was a little better last year. I'm starting to think that their confidence is shot and they've begun to expect the worst.

Of course, I've always said that this is what poorly coaches teams look like. So it really isn't that surprising to me; but the magnitude is surprising.

it's definitely poorly coached. While it does have to do with a little play calling it's the psychology of it I think that has the most to do with it. Even good playcalling with this same mentality leads to the same results. Until a shrink handles this team as a whole, we'll see the same results no matter what.

Yeah, I don't playcalling has the first thing to do with this.

They are not being taught how to play their positions.

Cutcliffe said it himself on the radio...what they are seeing on film is what they're coaching.

Or is it that the films they watch are the only coaching they're getting?

As goofy as that sounds, you have to start wondering what in the heck is being coached; especially the QBs and Receivers. They just look completely lost.

I know I use the movie The Waterboy as a reference way too many times but I begin to wonder if someone stole Fulmer's little green notebook.

Yep.

That's why I think Foster looks so much better than the rest of the team. Running is still mostly instinct.

Nah, I am sure he has listened to this board and hired the worst possible OC known on this earth

Chavis deserves it.

it is alot of money though for a already money tight university. we are not going to get the big money in our program for atleast a couple of years. they should restructure fulmer's contract and make up the money from there.

I'd personaly love to see UT go out and hire Purdue's Jim Chaney. Living here in the Hoosier state I see alot of Purdue games and the guy is VERY aggresive in his offense and attacks. I think it would open up the offense alot more and not rely so much on the run game.

I hear that Cut is holding out for right now in hopes of landing the K-State job now that Bill Snyder is retiring.

As far as opening up the offense, Fulmer believes in running the ball. As long as he's there, every OC we have will also have to believe in running it first, not throwing it all over the field a la Spurrier/Purdue/Texas Tech.

I don't care what we do, as long it produces 1st downs and touchdowns, and not turnovers.

Baloney! Chavis's defense has lost four games in the fourth quarter! We knew the offense stunk after the opening game ( which the D almost lost in the final minutes). The defense collapsed in the end against Bama, ND, SC, and Vandy (especially).

I am sick and tired of hearing how great our defense is. They are middle of the conference and in crucial situations in the fourth quarter not dependable!!

I tell you what.....YOU get out there for far more time than you were conditioned for game after game and see how you hold up in the end. You cannot expect 3 and outs over and over to allow the Defense to stay healthy and in the game. they get worn down because the offense can't stay on the field longer than three quick downs. These guys are good but there are physical limits week after week that these guys hit. It shows with good defense after 3 quarters game after game. Of course now that sorry attitude on the O side has spilled over into the D side as well. You can't expect these guys to keep their heads positive when their opposites screw up like they do.

So go ahead and crap on the D but they've been the only thing keeping us from losing a couple more if not all of the games this year.

I'd collapse too if I had to play the entire game. What do expect from a defense who has probably played 3/4 of the game time this season???
