In the past SOS used to gig Phil and he is still doing it. But I think the best thing CPF can do is beat SOS on the field. Then Fulmer can rant and rave and say whatever he wants. But until he beats SOS on a consistent basis he would be wise to just take his medicine.

Fulmer could beat Spurrier the next 4 years and SOS would still be talking daily

Fulmer is not a rant and rave kind of guy.
:shakehead: :disappointed:

I think it is about time Phil popped back to Spurrier. Steve Spurrier has used his mouth time and time again to antagonize other teams, including Tennessee. Fulmer never replied. Well the ole' ball coach left and got his clock adjusted NFL standard time. Coaches are not afraid of Spurrier anymore, they know he can be just as much a proven loser as a winner.

Beating the Visor Vicar on the field is the best statement Coach Fulmer could make. It's pretty clear that SS wants to run his mouth. But we really ought to ask why. Maybe it's an inherent character flaw...and MAYBE it's the only way he can get attention for himself and his program. I think the latter is most likely.

Getting all steamed up about a windbag isn't going to accomplish much, but I DO look forward to the Vols spanking his team. That won't shut him up. But it might wipe that smirk off his face. Maybe we should start a pool on what his excuses for losing will be. I have dibs on the "officiating".

Who knows? Maybe he'll lose enough hair, stressing, he'll have to buy a real hat!

Yeah let's roll over and let Spurrier drop kick us in the nads and not say anything else.....I don't blame Phil for not rolling over like a school boy b#$#$......Spurrier best worry about how he's going to handle losing to us and Clemson instead of running his mouth

Westie, you are the first vol fan (and I use the term loosely) that has had anything negative to say about Fulmer's comments on Spurrier and his comments.

Why am I not surprised at the source?

West is on drugs and is a closet Dawg fan ignore his remarks since his level of knowledge of UT sports and sports in general is on the 1st grade level.

West your lucky I don't have the rights to ban you

Take his medicine?? :dunno:

West, in case you haven't noticed - CPF and SOS have played pretty much dead even the last several times they've matched up. In fact, the last time I saw Phil and Stevie on the same field, it was CPF who walked away victorious.

Nobody has any medicine to take.

LOL....Nice post, Westie. Leave it to you to find SOMETHING about UT to gripe about. It doesn't matter how "off the wall" it is. You are consistent, I'll give ya that.

Why is there only one person who is anti-getting back at Spurrier? We should all be happy and glad that Phil fired back. I thought his comments were pretty damn good. I thought he said the right things. Whats funny is that after Spurrier made the comments and Fulmer fired back, 2 more Cocks were arrested for weed.

But nah, Fulmer made a bold move and I like what he did. Anyone who doesnt needs to take whatever orange they have off and get the hell out of dodge.

Some act as if Fulmer went over to Spurriers house and cursed at him.

All he did was tell him to worry about his own players and made a small crack at his golfing ways.

Thats it.

Good for Phil.

Instead and ranting and raving, he said what he needed to

I personally found the golf joke one of the wisest and funniest things that Phil has said publicly. Honestly, it's good to have old half-hat back in the ring -- of course, I just can't wait to watch him go down.

good comments. I was out of the office so I am just getting back to reading the various opinions. Like I said, I like the CPF of old. He would never get caught up in the SOS rantings and he took the high road. Now, at least to me, he has lowered himself to the level of SOS. Phil is alot better man than SOS and 'you can believe that playa'. After we whip the Gamecocks a few times, SOS will be irrelevant. And his childish remarks will look like a little spoiled kid who did not get his way. So SOS can stand over there and throw his visor and act like the moron he is. Because come game time there won't be any place to hide and he will have to pay the price to Mr Fulmer and company. It will be a graveyard digging and a coffin buying, A family affair- alot of weepin and crying.
