Fulmer vs. Majors

Well if it's slid since 1999, how the heck is that the Bill Battle pattern? He was the coach 6 years prior to that.

umm...did you read my post we were one game away from the title in 01, the Bill Battle pattern was 10-2, 9-3, 8-4, 7-5, 6-5. Fulmers is 56-17 since 99' thats not a bad record at all. I dont know where your going with this because Fulmer's been playing with all his players since 98' which you may remeber we won the NATIONAL TITLE. He is 69-17 with players that he all recruited.

The truth as told to me by a person who work for the football staff is that Majors had a very bad drinking problem and was drinking before games and even at halftime. He got in bad graces with the AD and that was the end of Majors. :thefinger:

Sounds like he was not only the coach but a football fan in general....lets tailgate, get drunk, and half ass watch a football game.

Well, now that was just uncalled for...

I used to have a good time going to Athens for the Tennessee game, too, until I had my life threatened leaving the stadium a few years ago. I wouldn't be talking too loud about our fans without at least holding a mirror up to your own!

no argument there....most football games I attend always has some of "those" fans...i do not condone the fans who get out of hand. I go to watch a game. If my teams does good things I cheer. If they do poorly I sit and wonder. I am a fan not the fanatic. My quote was in reference to many fans who drink to much and act like asses and the game is secondary to tailgating. I always liked Majors. He seemed like a classy guy but I did not watch him and analyze him as I am sure UT fans did at the time. Give me a good solid football game to watch and I am a happy guy.

Amen. Give UGA a few good years and the fans get nasty right quick. About 5 years ago they'd cuss you out and threaten you about bringing up how bad they were. Now they cuss you out and threatening you for how bad WE are. Five years ago you'd never see a flag, car magnet, or anything to do with UGA. Now it's all in your face. But we all have bandwagon fans don't we?
