Saw it the other day on front page of ESPN... but I think he would be good, considering he was a top coach during the transition to the BCS.
Former Tennessee Volunteers coach Phillip Fulmer wants on playoff committee - ESPN
Why can't we just use the BCS rankings system to decide the playoff? Seems to make sense to me.
Here's the real question:
Suppose Butch has the Vols in position and competing at this level in two seasons................
Would Fulmer actually hurt the Vols chances? Is he secretly that bitter and would he do something like this to spite UT? Maybe. Spilled milked and sour grapes can be a heck of a thing........
Read? ON VN? lol:The title of the thread is misleading. Read Fulmers answers to questions at the banquet and you'll see that it should be reworded.
Different Alabama . I looked back ,and I found his on the field (before Alabama's vacated victories) record as being 10-6-1 against Alabama. Here is Fulmer's record against different Alabama coaches:I wouldn't call a man that had a record of 12-5 against Bama a fool, sure some might but you can hold that dim light.
I didn't know there was 2 Alabama football teams..So are you saying we are not supposed to count those victories,if so they shouldn't count our past 5 years.Am I right?Different Alabama . Gene Stallings 2-2-1
Mike Dubose 4-0
Dennis Franchione 1-1
Mike Shula 3-1
Nick Saban 0-2
The record was made against Dubose and Shula with 7 wins and 1 loss. Those 2 coaches had an overall record at Alabama of 50-46, not counting all the 16 vacated victories under Shula. Against the coaches with good win/loss percentages (Stallings, Franchione, and Saban) Fulmer went 3-5-1.
No, I am saying that he took advantage of Alabama when they were saddled with their Coach Dooleys. When he coached against their 2 big boys, who won National Championships, he was 2-4-1. He made his record against Alabama teams that were barely over .500. Care to say that isn't true?I didn't know there was 2 Alabama football teams..So are you saying we are not supposed to count those victories,if so they shouldn't count our past 5 years.Am I right?
No I do not!Alabama isn't the only teams he played those years either, granted the only one's I really cared about but still! He hated BAMA and therefore has my respectNo, I am saying that he took advantage of Alabama when they were saddled with their Coach Dooleys.
