Fun Science Facts

Nothing ever really touches anything.....Rub your hands together and its the electrons around the atoms of your skin that are touching and generating the heat.

Are you telling me, my hands aren't actually touching?

Electrons are what actually hold that craftsman wrench when I change the oil on the car???

Well no it's not really me either but some very very good scientific minds. I don't write the theories i just strive to understand them. But yes in the simplest of terms that's what I'm saying. The electrons of the wrench and your hand.

I get the scientific mind part.

My question next is: surgeons.

When something such as open heart surgery is done, am I to believe its electrons? This would be a hell of a argument for a defense attorney on a malpractice suit.

Electrons slipped? Or moved?

I'm not picking at you. Just the idea/ theory.

It opens up a lot of ideas........

I know it really does. If you read farther back in this thread and tie in the amount of free space involved in the distance from the nucleus to those electrons you could argue a .001% change of size due to say heat and humidity caused that knife to grow or rather be misplaced in the atomic world.

It's true. Every atom has electrons, those are what makes contact between other atoms. That argument would be easily attacked, since the surgeon still controls the action and electrons don't "slip."

Cool.

Please provide proof that said " faith" is incorrect

Thanks

I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time grasping the enormous gap between faith and fact.

Instead of arguing I will simply respond with how a logical fifth grader would in an attempt to help.

You cannot prove something does not exist, the burden of proof lies on the person making the claim.

So, prove your faith is real through the scientific method, then we can further this discussion. Otherwise you'd do better to make a "faith" thread and go post outrageous claims there instead of trolling here.

Your hands are actually being repulsed away from one another. If you hands were to actually touch (not be repulsed), you would have a big problem on your hands (pun intended).

This is my question, where did the first self replicating molecule come from?

This is ridiculous.

There exist no proofs for either the existence of God or for the non-existence of God. Thus, the belief in God is absolutely reasonable. The burden of proof is on neither party, all that matters is whether one truly believes or one does not truly believe. For anyone that truly believes, they need not provide any evidence nor proof to justify their belief aside from that is what they believe.

This is absolutely ludacris.

That's pretty common knowledge man. In fact it's not even close...the number of stars in the observable universe well exceeds grains of sand on earth. And since our star alone has 8 planets, which in turn have up to 30 moons (jupiter) you can start to appreciate why that one guy posted that extraterrestrial life is a mathematical certainty.

Correction: jupiter has 63 moons.
