Funny Pics thread II

We did have a name for it, but I can't recall it. It was not a game to play with bullies that had a target on your back. lol.

We also played the cousin of this game on Saturday morning either at the HS football field or over at the city park. depending on which crowd you wanted to brave. Full contact, full speed, tackle, no pads, no helmets football. At the city park in that day it often ended up as segregated teams. The pile-ons after a tackle was engaged usually involved air borne bodies following loaded elbows and forearms. Oddly enough it was only the game. Everyone was pretty chummy outside the games. The game at the HS field was more mixed teams and although still quite rough, it was much more civil.

I played with the boys at recess so I played variations of this game. They changed the name slightly but same concept.

I remember some pick up games at Holston high school that always seemed to end with the rescue squad splinting someone up and taking them to the hospital- at that time the squad was located next door…..I quit going before it was the splintee

We had pick up games in college too. On sunday nights after church. Christian College. lol...usually ended up club against club. I still have a crooked pinky finger from those games and two messed up heels. I retired after 3 games. I recall 3 went to ER after these games. One broken wrist.

We need to be honest about these things
It was “smear the alternative lifestyle person with the ball”
I’d say in 4th grade none of us knew what “queer” meant.

Correct.

When I played this in 6th and 7th grade with the boys, it was spike the d--e when I had the ball. Same naming concept.

In all my time on this earth, I've never heard it called anything I've seen in this thread 🤣. We played, just didn't have those names for it.
