Yeah, engineering students in the early 70s made the transition quickly. $400 then is $2500-3000 today.Had one of those for my first physics class in college. Other students had newfangled fancy science calculators. I learned with the first test that future tests would be geared towards those with the fancy calculators. I plunked down the $400 for one.
And my mother wondered why I could no longer read the big E on the eye chart.Have a copy of this on my desk with my two slide rules....Leather Cases of course:
