Friday they had us cold calling 2020 high school graduates to see if they were interested in the Army. Out of 31 calls, only 2 people answered. And one of those was a wrong number. I did have a girl call back, but she hung up on me as soon as I told her who I was. Going to be a weird next 3 years. Sorry if any of y'all live near Mt Airy, NC. Don't hold it against me.

They work the schools a lot. Not just career day, but they show up lots of other times too. Sometimes stuff happens where the relationship between the school and the recruiting station sours though and then it's pretty much never getting to go back.Do recruiters still get to attend career day at the local high schools?
At one time, as a young troop, I entertained the idea of being a recruiter. Then, I found out about quotas and the possible punishments involved for not reaching them. That ended that dream. They work the schools a lot. Not just career day, but they show up lots of other times too. Unfortunately neither. Surprise surprise, but not enough people want to be Army recruiters. A lot, most even, of those that make a career out of the Army on the enlisted side either have to be a recruiter, drill sergeant, or sometimes luck out as an instructor. So, here I am. Giving back to the Army I guessAre you being punished or filling the gap opened by the punished?
