Funny Pics thread II

As a freshman at UT, I bought a quart of Strohs at the corner market. It was 43 cents. I had a sawbuck. The cashier is fast counting the change into my hand. Amidst the ones was a ten. He let it go. I folded the money into my pocket, grabbed the beer and left.

Several years ago, I went to purchase a hydraulic cylinder to use as the top link for a farm tractor - they do come in handy at times. There was a pretty young lady running the cash register, obviously new at the job and she didn't know what the cylinder's price was supposed to be. About that time, the manager came over to "help". He was being very condescending to the young lady. Maybe it was his way of impressing young lady with his talent and abilities. He took over the register and began to ring up the cylinder. After some time, he said it came to $99.00. I paid him and left.

I knew that the cylinder should have been close to $150.00, but he was such a jerk to this young lady I just let it slide. I figured it served him right.

And I don't think he impressed her in the way he intended.

I would just like to say... at one time Strohs was a good tasting beer... back in the 70s, by my account.

Lord, I remember when Stroh's and Schlitz had pretty hefty TV advertising. My first taste of alcohol was a plain old Michelob. I started late. I was a sophomore in college. Beer is filling. I had a hard time choking down even two on the inaugural run. One of the few I can say tastes the same now as back when is Mickey's wide mouth, and PBR. The recipe has remained true, for better or worse.

I guess you have a point... hell, I drank Blatz Beer too.

Drank Shiner back in Texas in the 80's when they were junk beer. You could get a keg real cheap. We'd get a decent 6 pack to start, then when you got past actually tasting anything, we'd tap the Shiner. Best I can recall it had a peanuty after flavor. Now, they have tried to reinvent themselves as craft brewers and jacked up their price, but that memory has kept me from trying today's Shiner offerings.

Stroh's was a step above my usual swill and I was happy to drink it. I was heavy into the malt liquors (Schlitz, Colt 45, Country Club). Drank enough Old Milwaukee and PBR to float a battleship. I used to love Rolling Rock but now I think it tastes skunky

OM and PBR weren't bad. I agree on Rolling Rock. When it first came out I really liked it. Maybe it was me but something changed and I haven't had it in many years. Add The Beast to list of cheap, get drunk beers that have passed the taste buds (Milwaukee's Best).

Shiner draft is a fine brew....in the bottles, not so much. The bars and restaurants around here are now supporting the local microbreweries and Shiner draft has lost some market.

I used to drink Pearl, a Coors like beer from Central Texas that made it's way to Atlanta back in the day. I remember it now as tasting like beer flavored water.

Sexy panties overrated. No panties. Now that's getting somewhere. (Gotts agree on the guys drawers there. Mine go in the trash at the first sign of holes. I'm a little concerned here however, at what caused that kind of deterioration).
Agree to disagree about the sexy panties vs no panties… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Each to their own… but yes guys need to seriously step up their game. Lmao

Back when I drank it, the old Shiner Beer may have been all they had. IIRC, Lone Star was also more fad than flavor. Can't say I remember Pearl, and I've definitely not had it.

I'll concede on that. Sexy panties play a vital role are are not unappreciated. But, if they don't fall off ( or suitable variants)....

Of course, a proper derrier (meaning one that has movement), can make granny panties take on an appeal as well. The front porch don't have to arrive 10 minutes early, but the back porch as to have a nice swing.
