The only snakes that need to be killed in this country are nonindigenous. No telling how many mice that snake would have eaten this year. I wish I had more in my yard. We have a mole plague.

Yeah, I realize that. Black snakes should be considered a good luck symbol. I meant that keeping parents happy is pretty important in recruiting, whether for college sports or the military.

Ditto. And ditto. I can stand in one spot and count all the tunnels. My wife calls me Elmer Fudd in the Spring when I go after them.

I don't need a uniform to tell a parent that a snake shouldn't be killed, reach down and catch it and then release it somewhere away from the parent. Didn't know Marines were afeared of snakes.

True story: Friday I was picking up a potential recruit and his mom wouldn’t let him leave (nor would she get out of her van) until we killed a black snake. Soooo,

Well, not killing a black snake will always leave me with a good chuckle when I think about my wife and son when he was retreiving the freezer off the back deck and she was on the porch steps, and what that slimy sucker did when he leaned the freezer back. lol.
