What's everyone's thought on Coach Pruitt's future plans at the QB position. With future prospects like Tee's son, Peyton's newphew and the Simpson kid in Jackson likely being Vol prospects who all do we go after now considering how talented our QB room seems to be for the next 4 seasons?

Well, you typically take 1 QB a year regardless of need. So it would seem they would focus on whomever they think is best in each class. It was funny that half of volnation is thinking everybody gonna transfer after Salter committed. He's our 2021 QB just like Bailey was 2020. This is the plan. Injuries and transfers happen, so you take one guy a year, minimum.

Simpson is from Martin. Plays @ Westview

There is some local on here (local to Martin) and he is not big on Simpson. Not sure what to make of it, as locals are usually the biggest cheerleaders for kids, even those that aren't always SEC material. This kid, by all rankings, would appear to be, and yet gets the opposite reaction from a local. Could be a rival HS fan or maybe they were just being brutally honest. Tifwiw

I know coach Simpson and what type of person he is, not sure about his son's talents as I've not seen him play but I'd bet he's a high quality character kid. Simpson is a good coach, I'm betting that the kid is pretty good.

I just wonder,, Ole Miss, will be a very strong pull, and don't forget both Payton and Eli went where that guy who is now head man at DUKE was. I just think that Archie saw something in him that helped send Payton to UT and, well we know that his being head man at Ole Miss when Eli was ready for college, just made it easier what with Archie being the "man" on that campus. I just wonder if this history with "Cut" might not play into the decision.

Hey Pulaski - have you seen the kid at QB for Hardin Co. ? He and his TE are really good. You should try to see them if their is a season this fall. Not a bad trip to Savannah for you now days that 64 is now up to date. I have a granddaughter at college there and it doesn't take her anytime to run back and forth. (she is a "shooter" on the school team)

The way we’re recruiting defense and speed, we win a. National Championship with Arch Manning. I think he will go to either Ole Miss or LSU, if they’re still strong then.

what years are these three prospects you references OP? the Simpson kid is 2022. What year is Tee's kid and Peyton's nephew?

As others have said, it would seem perfect if they were one year after the other.

We are still calling the guy Payton...smh

I believe Arch Manning is 2023 and Kaden Martin is 2022

I like the way this staff is going hard after every position. IMO, some coaches would bring in a kid like Bailey and promise him the world. Pruitt on the other hand, is bringing in competition and continuously trying to upgrade. No one is going to be comfortable, as far as position battles go. Just my thoughts, but I think the future is bright at the QB position.
GBO!!

IMO Tee's kid looks very fluid/mechanically sound for a young QB. I think he'll be twice the player of his dad and a top QB in the nation wherever he decides to play.

I think he's in the '22 class (edit)

I believe Tee's kid is also an elite baseball player and may never play football in college. He will probably get drafted in baseball out of high school, so he will probably have a big decision to make

I just can't see the #1 player in the country going to Duke to play football. I bet they are in his top 5 though because I'd agree about Cutcliffe. We should have brought him back in when Kiffin bolted.

He's a top 10 prospect most likely. That's worth somewhere between 3-10 million so I agree it could be tough to get him.

I'm planning on getting over to Savannah once HS football practice gets back going.

Bailey 2019
Salter 2020
Simpson 2021
Martin 2022
Manning 2023.

end thread.
Only problem is Bailey is class of 2020.
Salter is 2021
I believe Simpson and Martin are both 2022.
Manning is 2023.
Personally I’m not buying Martin just yet. Hope he turns into the QB his father and like that he plays baseball (I.e. Kyler Murray or Pat Mahomes), but I feel like he’s got a ways to go
