you have us taking 2 qb, 2 rb, 1 fb, 3 wr, 2te, and 7 ol. we're not going to be taking 17 guys on offense this year. we have a lot of depth issues to address on defense too, you know.
also, the problem with an analysis like this is that we never know how many years each player will be here, so there is never a point where we can just start taking a default class year in and year out. you never know which position we'll get a guy an extra year because he redshirted, which position we'll only have a guy three years because he was ready for the draft, or which position we only get a guy 1.5 years because of drugs/guns/laziness/academics/etc. (not to mention, consider how many guys are labeled as one position during the recruiting process but end up playing somewhere else once they get here)
bottom line is - there isn't some magic combination of positions that we need to recruit to get us back to the depth of florida and alabama. we just need to have very solid recruiting classes the next few years and bring in as many quality athletes as we can. positions will sort themselves out over that time period.
