Speaking of students... I understand the point you're all trying to make by not going to the games, I also understand that the current product on the field isn't up to standards and is at times almost unbearable. But, coming from a UT grad myself, you're going to look back on your time on the Hill and regret every second of action you missed on Shields Watkins Field. College football Saturdays are few and far between, and once you graduate, even though you're still going to games and meeting up with friends and everything like you did as a student, it's just not the same and it never will be again. Don't get me wrong, it's still great, it just isn't the same. It's also a lot harder to get to games, whether you still live in Knoxville or not. Work, kids, responsibilities....it'll never be as easy as it is now. Again, I understand your thought process and why you'd decide not to go, but there are way too few Tennessee football Saturdays as a student. Even if we completely suck out loud and get destroyed by 50 points, it's still a home game and a day you'll never get back.

Sorry, stepping of the soapbox. Just hate to see thousands of students miss out on something that they'll undoubtedly regret missing one day.

Was a student through the '08 '09 '10 '11 seasons.

I missed some games. No regrets whatsoever.

For some reason people fail to realize that there are other things besides football. It isn't the #1 priority of everyone. Sorry.

^ so life sucks when you get older? ive never heard this. you probably had al wilson and peyton manning while you were there not byron moore and michael palardy

No it gets better. But don't complain when the student section is moved AGAIN in order to sell unwanted tickets to fans who are willing to pay good money for them regardless of record.

Student section was moved before (one section) per NCAA rules because the home and visiting team switched sides.

Do I need to show you pictures of the stadium from the past few games at Neyland?

It's not only the student section with empty seats. Are you people just blind and looking for someone to blame?

It has also been moved again in Neyland and TBA. For sales.

Look. I agree... The product sucks. I wouldn't come back for Kentucky. If you look back, I simply said that I felt bad for the seniors on Senior Day. They have been through a lot. Hopefully they will get one more game after Kentucky.

Agreed.

These seniors have been through a lot. If I had the opportunity, I'd go for them.

Our coach doesn't deserve a single clap, but those guys do.

Nope, life certainly doesn't suck, it gets better in many, many ways. Just different is all I'm saying.

Actually not that long. Since 2002. Used to be Kentucky then Vandy. Then Vandy complained that they were on thanksgiving break for the Tennessee game and they would rather have it the weekend before. Kentucky and Tennessee didn't care so they switched it around.

Ah, I stand corrected. The last three years have seemed like 20, so that sounds about right.

Oh you're (almost) a whole year removed? Yeah, you can relate...

But what are these "other things besides football" that you speak of, please enlighten me.

You failed to see my point, and that's understandable. Get back to me in 10 years or so.

I can speak for the current students who are expected to go to that ****spectacle every Saturday.

Work, trips to see family, Saturdays in the mountains, school groups, catching up on homework, etc. That's what I did. I'm sure other kids have things they can do on Saturdays too.

I'll get back to you in 10 years and guess what...

Our record the past few years will still suck.

If I were a student I'd be there no matter what cuz for one I'm a football junkie!! Serious question, What's so important that y'all can't
show up? Even when we put a smack down on NCST those frat & soro folks sat on their ass like they were have a tea party and looked at me like a weirdo cuz I was yelling like a mad man!! I asked my good friend who is a student why don't they get off their ass and get fired up?! He said its more of a social event for them they are too uppity for your fire that you have. WTF!!!!!

That's what it has become. Pathetic. I was an undergrad 00-04. The display from all the fans students and regular fans is terrible, but so is the product. So I knida understand, but if I were a student there, I don't know if I could keep watching them lose the way they have been losing...... Really close games that are horribly coached.

I was there '97-'02. I loved it, went to every home game, got loud & had a blast. I would sit in the student section for the next 5 yrs. I would buy my tix then go crash it. I made sure I had enough whiskey to share & ppl wouldnt care.I would go to the student section because too many blue haired fogeys complain to ushers about standing and getting loud. Enjoy it while you still can.

Would be a good first game for my 3 yr old son . He doesn't like heights so there shouldnt be a problem finding tickets close to the feild if there aint many people there.
