'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

Not good. Fortunately we still have time to change his mind

October 1st is gonna go a long way toward helping with that decision. I think Williams really did just slip up, imo Gibbs is leaning heavily Vols, family being the #1 factor

Didn't GFW reference something coming up that's going to be a big deal for Deangelo? Is that Oct 1st?

My confidence is from that last big recruiting push we made last year right before NSD when a lot of the big name recruits were here on campus, hanging out at neyland at night and all that. A lot of them were periscoping that visit and Gibbs seemed committed already. Seemed like he was recruiting for UT. I remember having more confidence in Gibbs being a Vol than Warrior, and we see how that turned out with NW..

I'm sure UGA fans will run with it and UT fans will deny it. Its recruiting.

LOL! That's usually the way it goes. I have no idea if he is a silent commit or not. Even if he were a silent, he could easily change his mind prior to NSD. Gibbs' recruitment will be interesting because of his close friendship with Dixon and the fact they both transferred to Grayson HS to play together. Will they split up at the end of the season...or will they decide to play together in college? If Grayson HS wins the state championship will that provide added incentive to play together in college and try and win a NC? Keep an eye on Grayson's season this year.

Keep dreaming. Gibbs is not going to waste his talents at Georgia.

Could come down to deciding to play alongside Dixon or Warrior. I like our chances on this one. 80% he's a Vol.

After we beat UGA AGAIN on the field this year, it seals it.

You're wearing out your welcome. Gibbs is, has been, and will always be a Vol.

Aside from a couple of members on here; this discussion board is very "unwelcoming" to posters of other fan bases; even though I haven't made one negative comment about a Tennessee player or coach. The business model for most internet discussion boards is to attract more members/participants; especially ones who are capable of carrying on a discussion in a civil manner. I'll never understand why some fans get so worked up over a game played mostly by 18 to 22 year olds; and on the recruiting side we're talking about mostly 14 to 17 year olds that can have a new favorite team after every visit.

Lets go over to the Georgia boards and see how welcoming they are to a Vol fan...oh wait why would I ever go there?

His jab seemed to be a little playful to me. Maybe you shouldn't be so sensitive while visiting other teams' message boards? :dunno: Most on here appreciate the conversation and perspective; but don't expect hugs. We're still rivals. :hi:

Actually, most posters on VN likely welcome all posters from other fan bases, including those we may disagree with. We just don't find it necessary to say "welcome aboard" all the time. And if you stick around a while, which I hope you do, you'll likely see just as many "unwelcoming posts" made toward other Vol fans as well as there are simply posters who disagree with others and don't mind expressing their sentiment. It is, after all, a message board.

Other than that I agree with much of your post. But while you brought up the subject of 14 - 17 year olds, you may want to recognize that many of the posters on VN are college and HS students as well, and some may be a bit over exuberant about their Vols.
