'20 GA CB Kamar Wilcoxson (Florida commit x3)

I think we all understand that, but damn if I'm not going to enjoy it today. Cheers.
no argument here.....i'm enjoying it.......i just don't ever get worked up about the rr's, good or bad.....and that's why is all.

ineveitably, once UGA, Bama, Auburn etc.. get some momentum going and shoot up the boards, maybe/likely pass us, there'll be some star gazers wondering 'wtf'?

none of which changes that it's been a huge 2 days so far for us....sounds like it's not quite over yet either.....

Covered him since he was a freshman. Only played about half of the 2019 season due to a transfer rule. He was at Stephenson, then went to Cedar Grove, and was forced to go back to Stephenson, so he missed some time. As a player, I really like his length and his range on the back-end of the defense. I know he sees himself as a CB, and he has never liked that I ranked him as a S, but I still see him longterm as a free safety on the next level. He is not a strong cover guy, especially closer to the line of scrimmage. He could end up at the STAR/MONEY position, but still, seeing him as much as I have over the years, I like him well off the line of scrimmage in the secondary. He has good ball skills, he is a physical player and on the back-end, he does play with good awareness.
Overall, Wilcoxson is a good DB. Love the length, love the range and strong ball skills. Can improve speed, get better in coverage and overall fluidity.”

Bama and Florida are behind a paywall but it’s (Hot🔥) did manage to find something super funny on the gator board though that you all might enjoy since we were recruiting him..Georgia board is too predictable🙄 as expected.
He 1000% had a commutable offer to tOSU. They talked about it like a done deal on the national 247 show

Seems flakey. Won’t be surprised if he decommits before signing day. Hope I’m wrong.
boooooom!

dunno. that interview he did with AP....apparently he and Brooks were in last week, just decided to go back to back days. both feel like, according to Kamar anyway, that they can be the catalyst and core of what this class is gonna be because "they know so many people and so many guys want to play with us"....

to me, it sounded like between the advise he got from his uncle, who's an agent and represents a couple former pruitt players, and the situation with the roster in the secondary, and that brooks came on board.....that both of these guys want to be the leaders of this class. not just be part of a class. i mean he even said it "we could have gone anywhere we wanted"....

i mean, i wouldn't rule anything out....it's recruiting afterall.

but none of what he said in that interview sounded wishy washy to me.....

I love it. I absolutely love it. It cannot be overstated how valuable peer recruiting can be.

I think some people are afraid of landing these highly touted recruits, only for them to decommit later on.

well, to be fair, we've given good reason for that...i saw something the other day somewhere, i wish i could remember where, probably twitter, but someone put out a stat on programs with the most decommittments over whatever time frame it was, can't remember the exact time frame, may be 2016 thru 2020? anyway, we led the nation on that list....now i know the 2017/2018 classes probably contribute to most of that......but it is still something TN fans are very familiar with, so it being April...it's a long 7ish months til signing day.......and i'm sure other programs aren't gonnna stop contacting these guys.

but...seems like both of them are in the boat for the right reasons and want to be heavily involved in recruiting for this class at TN.

and if that's the case....then i like where we stand to be come December.

but it's recruiting. ish happens..................lol.

They soured on Kamar because they got Dunn, have Jaylin Davies from Mater Dei in Cali all but wrapped up. They are still a big time player for Derrick Davis and that would be over the limit for them with 7 DB's. Kamar was not a priority for them and his flippant character was also an issue, as it was with Georgia. With that said thugh, he is a good DB.
