'20 GA CB Kamar Wilcoxson (Florida commit x3)

What I think is curious is when asked who their dream school is (TN commits) they pick another school. I don’t get it. Why do that? This guy said Florida.

Because (spoiler alert) not every Tennessee commit grew up a Tennessee fan. Matter of fact 90 percent of them didn’t. Your dream school and the school you go to is different for almost all of these kids.

How many times has someone said Tennessee is their “dream school” only for them to go somewhere else? At least 1 every cycle it seems like

Trevor Lawrence and Tee Higgins to be exact.

I hear you but if offered by their dream school wouldn’t you want to go there?

If it wasn’t the right fit for me and I didn’t like the coaches, then no.

Let’s say I was a top recruit with a bunch of offers. I graduated high school a few years ago while Butch was the head coach at Tennessee. Let’s say they offered me and growing up a Tennessee fan, that is definitely going to be my “dream school” but let’s say i go on an official visit and see that Butch Jones and that coaching staff is god awful (which likely would’ve happened) No way I’m going there. I’m going somewhere where I’m a good fit, and my personal preference I wouldn’t go to the SEC so I wouldn’t have to play UT but other kids don’t think that way. Somewhere like Oregon, USC, Florida State, Miami, etc

This is exactly what happened to Kamar. He grew up a Florida fan and wanted to go there, but after a while his relationship with Mullen and their coaches soured, and despite having some friends still committed to Florida he has a hate for that coaching staff and wants to beat them bad, so he commits to one of their biggest rivals who has the coaching staff he’s most comfortable with.

That is truth...but the problem is my sight not his. It is just a struggle right now, but he has got me over every mountain to this point, he will get me over this one too.
Exactly. Keep that attitude, brother! Besides, us Vol fans have plenty to be happy about right now and the future looks bright

he has been offered by them, and committed to them, twice. he said afterwards that he always felt pressured by them, his family, and it ended up being the wrong choice for him.

no idea if that means he sticks here, but there was also the UF coach publicly throwing shade on him when he committed to UT, that probably weighs against UF too.
