'20 GA CB Kamar Wilcoxson (Florida commit x3)

How desperate is FU, chasing a kid that has already decommitted twice? If he goes back to Mehlen it is only because we decided it wasn't worth it. Kid is a total poison pill.

Let's be honest, our society has created a generation of kids who see fame as the pathway to riches. The Kardashians are exhibit #1 for the idea that you can become rich purely by being famous, nothing else, no talent, just famous. How do you expect young kids to act when they see that? Rich Housewives of wherever, Duck Dynasty, Honey Boo Boo, it's the value of being outrageous. Then add that to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter which gives anyone their own forum and this is what you get.

We just need to relax and see what happens in December. Maybe this is why Pruitt's staff is out there still recruiting like crazy, they may know that some of these commitments are about getting publicity when UT was trending hot rather than really wanting to be at Tennessee.

If that's the case do we really want these guys when it's midway through the 3rd quarter on a hot day in Gainesville with the Vols down 4 and the Gators driving, a situation where too often recently the teams seemed to fade rather than take the moment and say, not here, not today not against Tennessee? I would rather have the guys like Al Wilson who would look around the huddle and challenge his teammates to do great things for the orange jerseys they're wearing and the tradition they belong to.

It's the reason why no one really likes playing a service academy. They never quit, they never concede, even if they're down 10 with 2 minutes to go, they are going to hit you as hard as they did in the first quarter.

And it may be that Pruitt is sharp enough to use them back. After all look at all the national press we got for that Aprill/ May run of commitments.

Anyone care to share?

He basically said in the interview that he’s only communicating with Tennessee and Florida & that he’s gonna allow it to be a two school race down to ESD, when he plans to sign. Wants to see on field improvement, which I can’t blame the kid. You wanna take your talents to a winning team and I can’t fault him too much for that. We just need to buckle up but I can promise you he will bring on himself a lot of scrutiny & possibly getting recruited over. Coach Pruitt won’t really with this dramatic 💩 forever. We’re actually in on more highly rated guys anyways so Kamar is playing with fire, here.

BS! Show us one screenshot. You can’t.

I was mistaken, he wasn’t telling Diwun Black that he could deliver video. However what he was doing was implying that he could get him connected with UT coaches in this screen shot Diwun posted.

I also love how his tweeting slang changes when talking with recruits. “finna” & “tryna”. I wonder if he’s dropping “finna” during a lunch with the Coaches.

Kid seems Legit!

What happened here? He was all about Coach Pruitt all the time defending him at any negative turn. Is this UF flirtation a major troll job?

For all the drama, I’d still like to keep him. I sense a swagger that’d be nice to have in a DB
yeah, a month ago, it was " this kid is my favorite" blah, blah blah...not it's "don't want" lol.

fickle...at least as fickle as KW....lol.

he's on on his 3rd committment. he's not afraid to "say stuff". he has an attitude and personality. i'm not really surprised at this point by anything coming out of his camp....i also don't put too much stock in to it. he's a players player.....

i'm not worried. i like that he's part of this class. he obviously clicks really well with a lot of the other guys in his class, and other programs including florida, are still pursuing him.

there was no way his recruitment was going to be quiet, and keeping him will require work. just like all the other guys committed.

either way...my advice is to not put too much in to what you see on twitter. i think he likes knowing that he can get reaction simply by liking or retweeting something.....like the whole "dream school" deal...lol.

either he'll sign here or he won't. being "committed" doesn't mean a whole lot in this process anyway.....gotta recruit til they sign.

Well said, my friend. 👍 respect.

If he said he needs to see improvement on the field, then all he did was say out loud what every other committed recruit is thinking. If we go 6-6 or 7-5, our class will look a lot different. That shouldn’t be surprising.

AP says nothing should surprise you when a kid is on his third commitment.

I love that (a) the GT insider thought he was a lock to them, (b) the FSU insider thought he was a lock to Florida, (c) the Florida insider thought he was a lock to OSU, and (d) he never received a CB to Tennessee before committing.

I'm not a fan of drama but it is what it is. If he stays, wonderful. If he leaves for Florida, it's his loss. The only real concern I have is other recruits he is close with decommitting if he leaves, however the more time that passes the less likely I am concerned recruits will make emotional decisions the longer they are committed.

We're also in on many other highly rated DB's so if we lose him I'm sure we can find a replacement of his caliber.

from a skill standpoint, i agree.

but i'm not gonna lie. while i acknowledge the fact that a kid like this has potential to be a problem at some point....the other side of that coin is that he is a leader, he's not afraid to step out front and be "that guy", and he brings an attitude....an attitude that i think this program has needed for a long time. and i think we already have the baseline culture, coaching staff and locker room that he would benefit from...so i think some of that "ristk" is mitigated.

i want this kid in the class, i think the reward outweighs the risk....

but i wont' be surprised by whatever happens lol.

I think his recruitment will go till signing day. I cannot imagine Florida will take his commitment a third time without a signature. That’d be humiliating to lose a guy three times. So, unless a third school gets involved, I think he’s not going anywhere in the meantime. He obviously wants attention though. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see him reaching out to more schools.

How often do guys who act like this end up as successful players? It feels like it’s very rare.

Great player, would love to keep him, but my fear has always been some of these commitments were just a boredom thing.
probably true for some but Brooks, Evans, Willis Salter, and a lot of them still seem very solid. Lewis and Kamar are the only ones that seem to be really playing the recruiting game.
