AP has posted several times in the thread he started about this kid on VQ. Usually a good sign. Including this response when someone speculated he would follow a Defensive coach who is now the DL coach at Colorado…

I doubt it. He has been rumored for portal since November.

Beasley will be too. Ideally we land this guy along with another corner and by 2024-25 our starting corners are Gibson and Matthews with Beasley at the star. We really need a nickel that is great in coverage and is a great tackler rather than a 3rd safety like McDonald or Walker. Hopefully Conyer can improve in coverage too, but I’m not holding my breath on that

That class is starting to feel like the lone Tennessee class Kiffin assembled. Looked like a million bucks on paper, but really flamed out quick. Six top-100 players, and not a single one lasted two years.

Yes they are, they’re supposed to be anyway. It’s the 5th DB when you’re going against 11 or 10 personnel. With the way our defensive philosophy is though it wouldn’t surprise me if Tim Banks was deciding to play a S/LB hybrid against 12 rather than a 3rd LB. The only time that type of player should be on the field is against Brock Bowers

Redshirted after an injury late in his senior season (which led to Kirby abandoning him). Played two games this year after working his way back, so redshirted.

Would effectively be a FOURTH ELITE CB in this class.
