'24 GA DL Jeremias Heard (Tennessee commit)

I wanted him to get that Notre damn offer and hopefully a ratings bump. Kid is a 4 star on On3 but rivals and 247 have him as a low 3 star.

Ratings bump helps boost our class up. And nerd stuff like that matters even if it doesn’t.
Kids a freak and has the size and length to be a problem at OT

Except for the fact that he doesn't play OT. People keep complaining about our OL that have been recruited by Heupel being projects and not ready to play....but want someone that would be the biggest OL project yet to play OT. Garner loves this kid's athleticism and potential on defense. I wouldn't argue with his eyes as an evaluator.

and those same people complain that we don't have any DT types, but wants to change one of the few potential ones we have to a different position.

Some of you responding apparently forget that kids that are projects can end up playing on either side of the ball. HS kids play both ways already. Arion Carter was on anyone’s radar as a RB until his Sr year when he blew up at LBer. You play the kid where they have the best chance for success.

His chances of success at OT are slim because he just started playing football last year. He's been a basketball player and played defense last season with some spot duty at TE. It would take him 3 years here to just learn the OT position. He may never see the field with other, far more experienced, OTs being recruited every year. At DT, he could possibly be in the rotation in year 2,. and dominant by year 3.

Not many true freshmen can make an impact - too much to assimilate, let alone the mental and physical maturation process. And no way to assess how this young man can best help the team, or if he can. Time will tell.
