Garner will head down to Rome tomorrow night to see Jeremias Heard.

One under-the-radar prospect Tennessee has kept tabs on early, and who will be in this weekend, is Model (Ga.) defensive lineman Jeremias Heard. His 6-8, 280-pound frame, as well as his 35" arms, have been verified by the Tennessee staff. He has only been playing football since last July and his athleticism from his time on the basketball court shows up on the defensive side of the football. He is a name many believe could blow up going into the spring.

Monster. Could be a major find by G.

Funny thing is, his HUDL has no football highlights, just hoops. But you can tell he is a quick jumper (couple of multiple rebound plays) and one highlight shows him getting out on a double team with nice footwork and the bend at 6'9 to go get the ball on the ground.

Kid sounds a lot like Markeston Douglass out of Haywood. He was a basketball player never played football til the football coach convinced him to come give it a shot. He was a freak of an athlete. Signed with Florida State, is still there. He wanted to go to Tennessee but never heard a word from us. I keep my fingers crossed that he transfers to Tennessee one day

Willie Martinez has been in Georgia all week and will finish the week there. He stopped by the school of Demello Jones, who the Vols recently offered, and will finish off the week working through the state, including a stop at Model High School, where the Vols have continued to show a lot of interest in Jeremias Heard.
