If anyone wonders why we are not competitive in our league anymore, look no further than signing day. I keep hearing how great Jeremy Pruitt is on the recruiting trail. This class is subpar.

At some point, we have to start winning battles on highly coveted prospects. That isn’t happening.

You do realize this is just the early signing period. This isn't the full class.

You're not going to win many battles for "highly rated prospects" when you've won a total of 9 games the past two years, and haven't done jacksh*t in the last decade. Some fans expect Pruitt to just wave his hands, win 10 games, and sign the #1 recruiting class in the country.

We've signed one of the top OTs in the country, and have a great shot at another top OT (Wright). It looks like we have a good chance to sign the #2 athlete in the country (Crouch). Winning those three battles for top prospects is how to rebuild a program. Win more games, and the recruiting gets easier.

My man, we went 5-7 last year and have lost to Vandy more times than Id ever wish to admit. We are on the bottom of the bottom of this rebuild still. Pruitt is bringing in a STUD OL class, some great playmakers on the the outside & most importantly - he is bringing in guys who want to play hard, fast & mean football. Be excited!

This thread is being built up for a probable let down. This kid "shut down" his recruitment and said he made his decision on the 13th. He was at Bama on the 14th.

Why do we think this kid is coming again?

People need to remember that most of our big targets are either signing in January or signing early but announcing at an All-American game. (i.e. Crouch)

It's like this everywhere, no matter the state of the program. I've been refreshing and reading Bama247 all morning checking for JE news and they have just as many whiny babies over there as we do here. Yet, Bama has been on top of the CFB world for a decade and will sign a top 3 class, again. But as soon as something changes, and they lose a kid or two, fans lose their minds!

It's even worse on Clemson boards. Those guys whiffed on RB's, OL and now losing Crouch to UT. It's like a war zone on their boards.
